According to some peoples arguement I shouldn't be playing for Snugboro.
I played Celtic U-11 to U-16, Snugboro U-16 to Junior. But I have lived a stones throw away from Celtic Park for the most part of my life. But I wouldn't go back to Celtic. Their attitude stinks.(And they wouldn't take me!)
What to you mean by their attitude stinks. I would say Celtic would take anyone for their A, B & C team.

As far as helping the club out, a lot of players washed their hands off the club once they hung up their boots, including some great players.
The above quote is spot on. Alot of players these days think that the club should be honored for them to play for their team.It is harder and harder to get football people involved with youth teams. Some parents are great but the majority are coming form a GAA background and would not have the best insight into the AF game.

players should be allowed to move from club to club as they only sign a yearly contract - then they free agents!!
Is this the same person that has gone on about Celtic signing outside palyers for the last year. Is it OK for everyone to bring in players as long it is not Celtic. Is it the case that Celtic leads and everyone else follows?

Are you kidding us. I suppose Peter Burke spend the weekend in Westport this year and is now considered auld stock not to mention the Mayo manager.

The facts are simple. Paul was born in Westport and grew

up alongside the Camerons, Lovejoy, Danny Scahill and Joe Kelly out the Quay and all his uncles and grandmother live in the town. As far as Peter Burke and Michael Wallace are concerned, my understanding is that both made the first moves to join Westport United. I don't know what precipitated their decisions to seek fresh pastures but as someone posted here some weeks ago in relation to players moving to Celtic, if Peter Burke didn't want to play for our club we couldn't force him to.

Same with any other footballer. As far as Westport United is concerned, only the best will do!!

I got an SMS from MF last night telling me that Kieran Murphy is set to become manager of Ballyheane. Any truth to that story?

Its that time on year whem poeple get itchy feet.or may be two much wine,
I have heard from good source that K. Murhpy has decided to go to Ballyheane.
Also I believe from the same source that P Bourke has join Westport, I have been told the payments is the reason for moving, he has been seen in the local watering holes on a round Westport lately, feeling his new suroundins out.
well good luck to him, one can only think that junior football is now the new money spinner away from the tax man? :

    freedom

As long the rules of the league are up held, you can not prevent any player who wishes to move, providing its for the right reason and not for monetary gain.
Most cases, but must stress not all cases are for monnies, but some are, for reasons of where there is disagreement which can't be sorted out between player and club.
I would be for fredom of movement of players and who ever wishes to leave any club for a fresh challenge.

Would you mind clarifying the following statement in relation

to P Bourke joining Westport: 'I have been told the payments is the reason for moving, he has been seen in the local watering holes on a round Westport lately, feeling his new suroundins out.'

Ever think of getting a secretary or something to help you write the drivel you come out with Reno? Or an interpretor. Seriously.

a very happy new year to you all!!
hopefully it will be a better year with regard interest in mayo football!perhaps soccer may be given a little better coverage in the local papers(one can only hope eh?!)
i was wondering if there was any chance of discussing something other than what peter bourke had for his breakfast and whether he ate it in westport or castlebar?(maybe the halfway house??!!)
i see that claremorris have made it through to the super league next season.what might be people's views as to how they might progress?i've played against them this past season and was very impressed with both their set up in claremorris and the football that they play.they have great pace out wide and up front-and of course they also have derek glynn(need i say anymore about him-great player!!)i can see them doing very well in the super league next year if they continue to progress the way they are going.congrats to them on their promotion!

    Back 4

I reckon he'd have to go straight in:
    LB - Lawless
    CB - Lovejoy
    CB - Burke
    RB - Navin

That's the strongest back 4 we have considering we needed to play McHale in midfield (before he buggered his shoulder again) and BOC should stop playing himself although he's better on the pitch than standing beside it.

Given current situation with injuries this might be the starting back four:
    RB - Navin
    CB - Burke
    CB - O'Malley
    LB - Lawless

    Which isn't too shabby either.

Funny enough, I got a text message from MF about Kieran Murphy going to Ballyheane and I also got a text from the same gentleman concerning an allegation that Peter Burke is to get €65 from Westport United. Do I smell a rat?? I have to get the old detective into this!!
