What the hell are you on about?
I'm not talking about what exactly the numbers are, just that having a number which is always that of the player, means that you get a shirt printed and the name of your hero matches the number.

Relax Peader. Squad numbers aren't necessary for that. Gamble would probably be No. 6 every time he started if there were no squad numbers. Traditionally numbers have been equated with a certain position and if a player claims that position for themselves then they claim that number as their own for the main part.

Still don't see why that's better than having squad numbers?

I prefer to see numbers 1-11 out on the park. Those numbers are traditionally identifiable with the positions on the field. Makes a game easier to follow than a collection of random meaningless numbers. I don't see why that's better or necessary.

Nothing stopping them with the 1-11 system.

On the cameras issue, I'd agree with ger - Dalyer looks the best on the telly by a distance. Nothing stopping Sligo or Derry looking as well if they'd show the proper stand. Longford would look well if they had people at their games.

I didn't see much in it but they only showed it the once. Looked maybe more of a bookable offence but was studying at the same time so wasn't watching very closely.

RT - nobody's talking about cutting off people's views. The new stand is superb - show it off. That's all. Most people here agree, it seems.
Personally, I hate camera positions been moved, but new stands should be built on the opposite side of the cameras and not in the same place. e.g. at Monaghan.

Last year, the camera position was moved for live games shown at the Brandywell, to show the main stand, and when we went there in the cup in bad weather, rain was the only thing you could see on tv at times, because of it. If the camera position was in the normal spot there, you could have seen the game in the conditions, no problem.

Eh explain?? What cameras at Monaghan?

Anyway....who knows what we plan on the other side of our pitch for the future and what accommodations we have in store for cameras if they come?

Why are we used as an example in every negative thing? Get off our case people and wake up and realise that some clubs value the long term advantage of owning their own ground and developing it slowly without running into major debt or relying on local government to supply us with everything.

Since when does something have to be malicious to be a yellow?? I thought he came in late. As I said wasn't taking the most notice but while watching it thought it was a straight red and harsh because of that

That makes no sense. For the cup game the camera for live tv was in the correct spot. WTF has the weather got to with it?

Anyway thought mondays show was the best in a longtime. They showed every premier game, which they should every week, and 2 first division.

Why did Trevor Welch say "early doors"?

The longford coverage was interesting. Seems the colourless boez fans were allowed anywhere in the ground. Also when they scored they started chanting "Easy, easy"

The best coverage of grounds are in dalier, tolka, belfield, flancare, richmond and drogheda simply because they face the main stand.

And we dont rely on local government to supply us "with everything" And I'm sure gortakeegan hasnt got a cent in grants over the years either.......

fair enough....they dont supply you with everything and we did get some grants but the point I was making is that everytime there is something negative to be said about football in Ireland, Monaghan United are held up as the bad example when almost everything we have achieved so far has been through slow and steady progress by some very dedicated people who are not expecting miracles but proudly own every blade of grass at CHP and have very little debts. Not many clubs can say that. Yet we are the whipping boys.

Just get a bit fed up and it wasnt an attack on Rovers or anyone else just wish you would lay off us a bit.
