The fans reckon they're glad they got Linfield because Shels are the "best side on this island" and they had no chance against them. Now you reckon that the side who played you three times this season, won 2, drew 1, scored 4 and conceded 0 don't have the "skill or mental strength to beat Shels"!

Where does all that leave you?
Fairly bleak outlook for the drogs!
Chin up lads, you might get lucky and draw Gretna in the UEFA Cup.

sorry mate - its not our manager now crying about the long hard season and players being fatigued (already) maybe you should have rested players as well (all well some managers are spoofers and others manage).

Nice quote this week from Rico about there being no need for a large squad Maybe Cork wouldn't draw so many league games if Rico spent more time training the small Cork squad rather than stroking the media with his words of wisedom

Where are Drogs - well we are top of the league table the last time I looked and Cup Chamions and semi final of the Setanta. - oh yeah just signed a finnish keeper for the Linfield game

I hope (as I do like Cork) Shels don't show you up too much.

Now ... that might be a bit of a banana skin for Drogs.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

This just posted on CCFC (from meeting of Setanta organising comittee today):

Drogheda United - request to register a goalkeeper

A request from Drogheda United to register an additional goalkeeper to their Setanta Sports Cup squad was discussed by the Committee. The Committee decided to refuse the club's request to register a goalkeeper for use in the Setanta Sports Cup Tournament on the grounds that the Tournament Regulations clearly state that the closing date for the registration of players for inclusion in a participating club's squad (of 25 players) was on 22nd February (This date also coincided with the closure of the first eircom League Transfer and Registration Window).

Furthermore, the Committee decided that as one of Drogheda United's registered goalkeepers was under suspension, no relief could be sought in respect of this. This decision of the Committee is consistent with its treatment of other applications for changes/additions to squads which had been previously considered over the two years of the Tournament.

have to say been very impressed by Linfield in the games I have seen. Been particularly impressed by your old stagers Noel Bailie and Glenn Ferguson. Peter Thompson has been excellent and Paul Mc Areavey too. Genuinely hope you make the final and that is another North-South clash like last year.
