[QUOTE=Peadar]Shels were 1-0 up and they allowed you posession around the midfield, but you didn't threaten until late on, after they had made some changes.

    [QUOTE]

So the two efforts we had off the woodwork in the first half don't count as 'Threatening'

Finn Harps – Eddie Mahon, Declan Mc Dowell, Paul Mc Guinness, Tony O Doherty, Jim Sheridan, Joe Healy, Joe Logan, Hilay Carlyle, Tom Mc Guinness, Jon Duffy, Charlie Ferry. Subs – Eddie Mc Groarty and Terry Harkin.

Linfield – Ken Barclay, Alan Fraser, Frank Parks, Roy Coyle, Peter Rafferty, Cyril Hewitt, Dave Nixon, John Garrett, Jim Martin, Martin Malone, Billy Murray.
That was some Harps team there as well. Tony 'Doc' O'Doherty, Big Jim Sheridan, Logan, Carlyle, Ferry and Harkin. Two NI Internationals. I'm sure there was one or two on the Linfield side as well.

Martin McGuinness's brother there too. Wasn't aware he played that day. One of the Harps lads has a paper cut-out of the match report scanned. I'll see if I can dig it out.

I'll tell you one thing for sure mate, they don't count as goals.
+1 goal difference? Tut tut tut.

We had heard all about how good Derry are and how McCourt would be amazing after a wee rest so you can understand why we all feel a bit let down now after seeing how poor you've been in the Setanta Cup.

As I said though, you've done Linfield a huge favour and virtually presented them with a place in the final so you should celebrate the good will between your two clubs now.

Roy Coyle and Peter Rafferty were both internationals. Peter got his onoe and only cap against England at Windsor. The roar that greeted him when he came on as sub was incredible and within minutes he put Trevor Francis up in the air which was greeted with as big a cheer.

In both games, you were losing with 11 men on the pitch and your indicipline is your own problem, not ours. We simply took advantage of it to double our lead.

How could you have been playing your reserves against us when your manager doesn't even know what his first XI are?

Might start collecting your excuses throughout the season and compile a comical report in December.

honestly think shels will win the semi quite easily. Cork haven't the quality to beat Shels.

But that's not what you said.

    I'll remind you'
You said "you didn't threaten until late, after they made some changes"

I've asked you "Do the efforts we had off the woodwork in the first half not count as threaten" and you've totally ignored that point.

I have no arguement over who deserved to go through, In my opinion the team with the most points deserves to go through, no matter how well the team plays, if you don't win matches you're out and that's that.

But you have made a statement that is not backed up by facts and when challenged on it, just ignored it.

Did you even see the match???

To be honest, I never thought Derry looked like breaking us down, which was surprising as they normally give our back four a torrid time.
I'm not so much disappointed that we lost a chance of a home semi-final draw, but for the fact that we had the chance to get the Can't-beat-Derry monkey off our back.
I think criticism of Derry is quite undeserved - I won't say they deserved to beat us, because that is patently false, but they are well-organised and have players of real quality, which means they'll be up there again this season.

Just like they were in the Brandywell until the blizard struck and saved you.

I agree with you, Shelbourne were the better side at the Brandywell, as for Monday night i thought a draw was a fair result.

    BUT

Again you ignore your earlier statement, which was a load of crap.

    Your play wasn't threatening!
You may have hit the bar but you weren't consistently creating chances. No matter how outclassed a side is, they're bound to get into the opponents half once or twice, doesn't mean they were a threat!

As I dislike Shels and Linfield more than yourselves, I really do hope you get to the final against Drogheda.

But just be careful, remember what happened last time you played them in a final

No worries! If by some miracle they manage to sneak past Linfield, we should be fine as we've removed all the Shels lads from the team. Have beaten them twice and drawn once with them since the final.

Would be nice to beat them in another final (for traditions sake) but I don't think we will meet them - it will be a Drogs - Shels final. Cork haven't the skill or mental strength to beat Shels.
