City Secretary Gerry Harris confirmed today that the eircom Premier League defending champions would be benefiting from Reading's promotion.
Harris said, "We are entitled to an extra €30,000 from Reading following their promotion because of clauses in Kevin Doyle's and Shane Long's transfers but we have not received it yet.
"We will also receive €10,000 from Reading because Kevin won a full international cap."
Shane Long also moved from Turners Cross to the Madejski Stadium at the same time. Clauses in the transfer contracts of both players entitle Cork City to extra cash if Reading are promoted to the Premiership.

The Royals ended a 135 year exile and secured promotion to the England's top tier for the first time in over a century after a 1-1 draw with the Foxes.
Former Turners Cross favourite Doyle, ensured that Steve Coppell's side would be playing in the Premiership next season with an 84th minute headed equaliser at the Walker Stadium.
Doyle, who has netted 15 league goals in the Championship this season, was transferred from Cork City to Reading last summer for a fee believed to be close to €117,000.

Meanwhile 22-year-old Doyle revealed that Leicester, who are eying up a place in the play offs, were very determined that his side did not get promoted in their back yard.
He said: "The game was slipping away from us at one stage and Leicester weren't making it very easy for us as they are trying to make the play offs".
"But thankfully I got my head to Jim's corner and it when in and other results went our way and then the celebrations began after the final whistle and it really was a fantastic day."

I swear to god .... i actually hate the guy, its compounded every time it is rubbed in out face. We are have some of our own fans turn on the club and supporting Reading over this, some just cant see the woods from the trees. Untold damage by the kunt.

I am delighted that there was no damage done to our season just gone.... we were luck Pat's are still recovering and it is a credit to them that they are, they could of gone bust.
Thankfully he was found out and thankfully people can see what he has done. If they hate him or still love is besides the point but the whole affair has shown a lot of clubs what they could have to deal with, should the hire such a *******
