I thought they had split from Pats? Otherwise i think some supporters restarted the club?
My understanding was that Pats and St. Francis merged a few years back, but i see Francis are having fundraisers to redevelope Hyland Park IN Baldonnell. I didnt realise they still existed as their own club. Can anyone enlighten me on what the arrangement was between the clubs.
Also did anyone else spot St Francis play in the Studs film that showing at the moment?

The merger between Pats and Francis never officially went through. Not sure of the exact ins and outs, but it was presented as a done deal when in fact it wasn't.
As tonyd said the merger never happened. Baldonnel was always owned by a trust and they kept hold of the lands (sensibly). Alan Duncan decided to take them out of the league.

Hopefully. The league needs another club in Dublin. Particularly for Shamrock who have no derbies this year

I played for St. Francis in the United Churches League this season. As far as I know this team is the proper St Francis, and not the version playing out of Clondalkin. The trust that Dodge refers to are in charge of our club and I know there were/are plans to play out of John Hyland next season.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
There are now 2 clubs in the LSL called St Francis. Both claiming to be the real deal. Its a bit of a farce really.
Always look on the bright side of life
So that makes 3 St. Francis clubs? We play out of the Liberties if it helps clarify anything.

No he wasnt, Pats definitely had replica shirts for sale with St Francis crests on the sleeve. I remember slagging the honourable Dr Nitedub about it at the time! I reckon it was the home shirt just before the 2002 WC or around that time anyway!Originally Posted by Dodge
