    Vinny Sullivan signs

From Corkcityfc.ie. He has signed a one-year professional contract. Our panel is a bit thin on the ground at the moment. If he is anyway near fit, I'd say he will come into the squad.

    Thumbs up

Very good opportunity for him to establish himself at the eL best club, play in Champions League etc... Left midfield position is there for him to own.

This is Ricos first signing of note so will be very interesting to see how good he is at judging players.

Hopefully he has been training although he may not be match fit. AT least we can 'rest'

Anyone got any profile of him? age, history etc...?

The first 11 more like, seen as we've so many out for Bohs on Friday.
Rico signed Roy, Bruton and Connell(not a headline-maker obviously ), pete.

    Much needed signing.
    Hope he establishes himself.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

Although its probably time to give Admir Softic a run i'd say he'll go with Lordan, Woods and Fenn.

He moved from Dungarvan Utd. to Glasgow Celtic when he was about 16-17. Spent a few years there, but never broke through. Went on to Livingstone for a year, and moved to Waterford Utd. in 2002. I think he's about 24-25 now. Primarily a striker, he did play on the wing for us too.

was it left wing or right wing? i assume he's been bought as a replacement for kearney. that seems to be the most pressing gap in the squad...team isn't properly balanced if we're trying to stick george or gamble or fenn out wide...

Though i think Georgie was starting to look a viable option out wide on the left, i'd expect Sullivan to be asked to play there. However, Colin T shouldn't be easily dismissed from the team.

Well you believe wrong, whenever we deployed him on the wing it was always right-side.He's not an out and out winger, much better playing up front could form a useful partnership with Fenn.he's a very pacy player and always gives his all for the team(well he did for us anyway) and came up with a good few important goals in his time with us!!!!!!!!!!

Confused Blue, did Fenn always play as a regular second striker for ye or did ye have him in midfield?

Vinny is an out and out striker, very energetic and is a scorer of great goals particularily against City and the goal which won the league for City when the Blues won against all odds in Derry tailend of last season.Meanwhile,Fenns best position,as everybody knows,is in the hole!!

Quite literally, especially given his fondness for all those pink items of clothing!!

While with us he was deployed in the space between the midfield and the strikers. He'd drop deep, take a pass, lay it off and Daryll Murphy would do the rest.Ah those were the days!!!

Brings a tear to my eye reminiscing about it!!!!!!!!
