Turner was a class above everyone,Hughes was good but lacks a burst of pace.
Hunt was good for Bohs but their whole defence are useless.
Good win, and a good start for us...MOTM IMO hughes and i thought faz was fairly poor...but all in all great atmosphere and even better 3 points

IMO MOTM for me was John O hara played very well
Indeed...........
Great game, missed the first 15 mins due to "stuff". Foy, Hughes, Turner did very well. Burns and McNamara were rock solid at the back as usual. What was Manesaram at pushing Digger and the Bohs defender? He was lucky to get just the yellow for that. McT did well up front again and O'Grady was strong in the tackles again. I was very impressed with us overall, slight problem I have is how "under the cosh" we were in the second. We really just tried to hold the lead when really we should have pushed for a second. Looking forward to seeing how we do against Derry now.
Interesting to see Stephen Kenny at the game, he's spying on us for next week.
EDIT: Sean Connor said in an interview after the match that Foy was his MOTM.

Totally agree with ya there RWR. I felt faz was our worst player tonight by a good bit and he showed his disapointment when taken off. Hughes I thought played very well. As did Turner, Peers and McKenzie when he came on. Im very impressed with the new signings tonight although I had no idea what Mansaram was doing and was lucky not to be sent off. Burns and McNamara were rocks as always. A great start for us. Plenty to work on especially passing and more so passing when on the break. Considering they hadnt played a match in two weeks it was a great showing but i thought Bohs were diabolical. Whyever they got Arkins I have no idea. Theres alot done and alot more to do. The potential is there for us all to see.Originally Posted by Red&White Rover

RIP JOHNNY
I think faz was bad not tracking back to help Foy!Conor o Grady was brillant he covered every blade of grass! The only problem i think is we had to work so hard against a very bad bohs side!I just wonder can we do it week in week out?But good start!
well it was our first competitive match and our only one in 3 weeks,so the players were not as sharp as they will be as the season gets going.
the workrate was fantastic, especially from mc t o grady and mc namara
good performence and its nice to have the only 100% record in the premier division![]()
but i think that could be the worst performence by a visiting side this season, they created nothing.
Out of interest, what did ye all think of the ref?
I wouldn't mind seeing him come back, done very well I thought. Bit of a change on Deering, Duddy and Hilda anyway.

Don't know what game you were watching then. The only bad decision I can think of is not sending Mansaran off for pushing Digger.Originally Posted by ali2005

i thought referee was better than what we are used of but there was bout 3-4 decisions in the 2nd half that were scandalous not to mention the 5 MINUTES added on. foy was very good. peers was unbelievable. turner was great&will be even better in with a few games behind him. 3 centre backs were superb. hughes showed flashes of what he'll be doing all season. o'grady as usual gave 210% and won tackles he had no right to win. solid game for flannery and i'd say mcguiness&ferguson will be havin nightmares bout mct all week. faz was very disappointing, got shown up badly for pace&tried to play football out of defence at the wrong times. mansaram was a lucky boy not to get sent off but did ok footballwise. in 1st 25 minutes i thought we were in for a serious reality check but after that bohs were f*ckin cat. considering the lack of a game for 3 weeks and the nerves it was a fantastic performance to come away with 3 points, we showed real character and the passing and cohesion will go up a cupla levels in the coming weeks
crowd was slightly disappointing but the rugby prob had sumthin to do with that and the shed was still good craic.

Well done boys, I thought you were full value for your win on Saturday. My first time to the Showgrounds and I was impressed, it is a lovely little ground, comfortable for away supporters.
Although Bohs had a lot of the possession in the second half we created practically nothing from it. Your team showed a lot of determination and deserved the result.
I thought the referee was poor. Not necessarily on any particular decisions except maybe he might have sent your substitute off, but I thought he blew the whistle far to many times when he could have let the match flow thus creating a very patchy game, particularly in the first half.
During the match I thought your support was pretty muted except for some of you who were behind the goal. Although, I spoke with a good few Sligo fans and they were all fairly dead on. Looking forward to going back in September. Maybe then we might have a team worth crossing the country to support.
