    Scully 'the Special One'

Stephen McGuinness takes in Shamrock Rovers first game in the first division against Dundalk at Tolka Park. Like all eircom League fan’s I was delighted to have our first competitive weekend of action in what is expected to be a very tight tussle in both divisions. Our choice was the eagerly anticipated clash in the first division of historically Ireland’s greatest two teams Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk.

Early on Dundalk had too much power and experience with Rovers struggling to contain the front pairing of Peter Hynes and Philip Hughes. Hynes produced a moment of magic after a hesitant Rovers defence backed off and invited an unstoppable shot that flew past Barry Murphy’s despairing dive from all of 25 yards.

Everybody knows Sean Connor is Ireland's answer to Jose Mourinho. He even comes complete with the coat an all.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

I'll be the first one to admit that. He'd even admit it himself tbh.
