Absolute cracker of a match. It was a second round group match. No quarter finals in '82. Italy went ahead twice only for Brazil to draw level both times before Rossi got his third and the winner. For me one of the greatest games I've seen was the semi-final from that year between France and West Germany. It had everything. Have it on video and have watched it numerous times.

That was a fantastic documentary. It was done because Taylor was so sure England were going to qualify for USA 94 that it would have been the story of his great success. Instead it showed up Taylor as being completely inept for the job. I remember it most for his famous quote:
'Ooh, do I not like that!', and of course his famous verbal attack on the linesman at the Dutch game which in effect resulted in England not being able to qualify.

2003 2-0 Gerrard and Owen if I remember correctly ? You're mixing it up with our 3-1 win at Anfield. As yes the 3-3 draw with Poland, Palm it Out Packie at his best, cost us a trip to the finals.
Bye bye Stan. Go off back to collecting cones you useless git.

UCD 3-3 Velbazhd Kyustendil in the 2000 InterToto was a great game, and started off the eL's vast improvement of results which we've largely kept going to this day.

Brazil 5-2 Costa Rica in the 2002 World Cup was hugely entertaining - two teams who didn't want to hear about defending. When a centre half scores an overhead kick from a corner, it speaks volumes for the game!

Alaves v Liverpool was a technically woeful game - LSL standard almost, hence the goals lfying in everywhere. Got hyped out of all proportion by people (in particular the BBC panel that night) saying that all the goals meant it was a classic. Neither team could defend to save their lives. (Difference between this one and the one I quoted above is that at least neither Brazil nor Costa Rica were pretending they could defend! )

France 2-1 Italy, Euro 2000 Final, AET. Tension, great attacking play, amazing technical defending (Nesta and Cannavaro were awesome) and a dramatic finish. Can't ask for much more.
You can't spell failure without FAI
