You are correct, you won the league and its done and dusted. I didn't bring up the home/away advantage thing. I merely corrected Peaders wild assertion that you had a more difficult league campaign. On a side note, if you discount the 3 games that Derry and Cork played - we had 69 points ye had 68 points. And in such a close title race of course people are going to look back at that fact and say Cork had that advantage of having us at home twice - especially knowing that on your one visit to the Brandy you got spanked. So don't try and tell me that if you were in our position you wouldn't say "****, I wish we had them at home twice". But as I said earlier its all hindsight, and not worth dwelling on.

dave, I aint bitter at all, ye beat us fairly and squarely at the Cross on the final day...if we had been robbed of course I'd have been bitter, but we weren't and the best team on the day won and got the big prize. But what ANNOYS the sh#t clean out of me though is certain Cork fans making out your title winning campaign to be some world beating season - ye won it by 2 points FFS!! Ye were the best team in the country last year, but not by as much as you make out. RANT OVER

Lads is anyone fed up with Felix Healy? I mean he keeps knocking the teams from the North ( which is justified most of the time, particularly in the Cork Group ) but he hasn't given any credit to Linfield -he justs says they are fit players and you expect that from Linfield.

I thought Linfield have played some great football so far, particularly in Tolka. They look a class act and truly the best game ( goals aside ) in the competition so far, was between these two ( most classiest sides on the Island ) in Tolka. The standard of football was excellent. Wait for all the Cork Biys to start spitting venom coz I excluded them -oh well!. As a consolation, I'll say that the top three sides on the Island are Shels, Linfield and Cork -in no particular order.

It just goes to show the standard of football that could be expected from an all-Island/Ireland league. Linfield would force the other clubs to raise their standard as they would be major candidates for the league title each year.

Hilarious! Shels may have a stronger squad than City but when it comes to the First XI City, Derry and soon Drogs are a step up. Class?
    Crawley?
    Greg?
    Crawford?
    Hawkins? Ha.

Exactly. Not only that, but Ports, Glens and Linfield have much better support than most eL clubs.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

Glens and Linfield yes great support but Portadowns support has been woeful from what I seen on the telly. Never made it up last year but heard it was very poor

Hey whats your problem with Crawford. Most underrated player in the league. Very classy player.

Shels have the squad but not the team & seem to be living on reputation this season.

I think Linfield are very good attacking but don't control the game enough. Cork City are the best footballing team on the Ireland, best defense but not direct enough in front of goal.

Derry City v Linfield should be a cracking match next week.

Healy will never give us much credit, he has detested us since his playing days with Coleraine.

Well Linfield's Mc Areavey should not have been sent off the other night.
Crawley should have got a red card for his two-footed assault on him!

David, Healy has a problem with everyone. IL fans seem to think he has a bias toward us but the opposite is true. He was actually involved in a fight with a group of City fans before our last derby with the bogmen when he was manager. He hates us as much as we do him.

Can't agree. Derry may be found out this year. Kenny is an outstanding manager getting exceptional results from average premier division players ( Paddy McCourt aside ). How long can Kenny hold them up?

Something to do with the manager?

Have to agree. Fingers crossed there will be no off the unsavoury incidents before, during or after the match.

    1) Drogs - Cork
    2) Drogs - always win cup finals against Cork
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

Would be surprised if drogs made it tbh.

I think Derry, Shels or linfield would be too strong-depending of course on those teams upping their game to the way theyre capable of playing

I will judge or ability to progress on our preformance tonight. We have IMO the best squad in the league, $hels on their day have the best XI. We have been toothless in attack recently and Farren needs to pick it up a bit. He is a player who needs to get a goal, after one his confidence will be back but ATM it just isn't there.

As an aside.....only 1,500 at the X on Tuesday night according to many papers. What a joke!

Ya, twas disappointing alright but its not that exciting when you're already through to the semi with two matches left and everyone knows you're going to steam-roller Portadown.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.
