Sligo get more at hurling games
irish soccer magazine gave an attendance of 12 for a home farm game in the late 90's

That's on a par with things like the Hellenic League in England - Didcot town could hold their own on the First DivisionOriginally Posted by shedhead

In fairness to Kilkenny City it's hurling heartland down there and there was a big game on telly that night aswell. Don't get me wrong the crowd was still pi$$ but I personally found the sub 100 crowds in CHP, Whitehall and St.Richmonds for scheduled games last season far more appalingOriginally Posted by REVIP

And I must clarify by saying it isn't so long ago Limerick were playing in front of myself and 50 or 60 othersOriginally Posted by Lim till i die

It seems plain daft to schedule a match against major matches scheduled for television.Originally Posted by Lim till i die
For what it's worth, I think the League should go for a single night for all the matches (probably Friday) and attempt to maximise the coverage from RTE etc - aim for a reporter in every ground, offer live updates from around the country to local stations. Playing matches in dribs and drabs means that those played on Saturdays and Sundays get next to no coverage.
and even that lge has a dedicated official website : http://www.hellenicleague.co.uk/Originally Posted by REVIP

Five hundred and seventy seven (577) at the Limerick Vs Dundalk game. Poor pitch and some terrible reffing destroyed the game as a contest. Some cracking goals in it though.
Shockingly poor attendance at Pats v Cork tonight. Personally, I thought no more than 1800, but I was talking to a Pats director on my way out of McDowell's and he said 1400 - dunno whether that was 1400 who paid in with season ticket holders, etc on top. Either way, it was very disappointing, even allowing for it being live on telly.
PS Hi to Peadar, Eanna and Redgav. Told youse I had a good feeling beforehand.![]()
Revenge for 2002
Bohs-UCD looked about 1000 as the teams were coming out, but filled up a good bit. Maybe 1500, but that's a complete stab in the dark really.
thought it was a bit better than that - i got in a bit late (after youse scored) and it seemed by then better than last week against dc-si if i estimated 1900 then, say 2000 tonight?Originally Posted by pineapple stu

I'd say there were about 600 at the Bray-Dublin City game...which wasn't too bad, considering all but about 20 were home support. Our previous gates, whilst good, have been somewhat inflated on this thread.
I'd guess about 950 at Waterford United v Derry City last night
yeah your probably right.. approx 900 in stand and around 50 or so around the ground.. dissapointing crowds this season... but with the state of the ground.. who can blame the fans for not coming?? its awefull.. we need that new stand very quicky for the fans to turn up.
According to WLR this morning, approx 820 patrons paid in at the gate. Give and take the season ticket holders and the usual hangers on that come in at half time, my guestimate: 950 - 1000 tops.
Pathetic but the pitch aint helping matters.

What's wrong with the pitch? Are the Waterford public refusing to attend the RSC due to the terrible seating arrangements on the pitch?![]()
Who Cares?!
Sadly you cannot count, the attendance was a dreadful 1,255Originally Posted by sonofstan

that's dreadful though; with no Rovers and only one Shels game, we're going to suffer this year attendance wise if that's all we can get for run of the mill games
