I've said it before - pißing on each other over fan numbers is a waste of time. While I'm proud that my club had 600 more fans than Pats after a generation on the road, it doesn't give me much satisfaction.
If all the public ever see is what a shambles the FAI and Irish football are and how wonderful English football (thanks to its FAI and RTE supporters) is, you can't blame them for staying away.

I'd say little over 250 at the Harps - Limerick FC game tonight. Harpskid or someone will have a more accurate figure though.

The final is a different prospect, anyone who's ever been a fan will be there and will drag their mother and the the rest of their family along! That's the way it is for all teams when it comes to the cup final.

400-450 at athlone -v- Galway with probably 200 of them kids and around 100 travelling supporters from Galway.
SligoRovers website has put the attendance at 5,100 but there were 5,500 tickets for sale and they all sold out.
They are just saying that for the FAI Health and Safety Crowd.
Id say more like 6500.The whole place was packed apart from the "no mans land which would only hold another 400 or so.

Now we have heard rumours that therer were fake tickets being printed so that would have added to the numbers also.
I dont think Derry could complain with the money they got considering their fans were allocated 2000 tickets....1/3 of the attendance.
The gate gets halved, so the number of tickets either side's fans get is irrelevant to the allocation of the gate receipts.
Apparently the tickets for the game looked like some kid had made them, so not surprised if there were forgeries. Few tricks get missed on Foyleside anyway....!
