If an attendance is announced as official, then for the purposes of this thread it has to be recorded as the attendance.
The "but there were more in the ground" argument doesn't hold up.

But there must be an 'official' upper limit on the capacity surely, for health & safety reasons, is this not part of the reason why some matches are all ticket ? If the away team takes all their allocation and all the tickets are sold, I would presume that regardless of whether the ticket holders go to the match the 'official' attendance would be equal to match ticket sales + season ticket holders + away ticket allocation only.
There was more than that in the stand sure!
Was a bit disappointed that the slight upward trend of recent games wasn't continued, but there was at least 1050 there, and probably closer to 1100.
I reckon about 950 in the stand, again many of them late comers, and around 120-150 about the ground.

City v Shels last night - estimates of crowd currently range from 5,000 - 6,000.
I'd theeerfore got with 5,500 until the debate settles or the club anounces a figure.
RTÉ News mentioned a figure of 5,000 as well.
Either way, it's Derry's highest league crowd of the season - another victory for Shels!
5500 will be the offical attendance at the showgrounds on sunday , HSE and FAI are meddling , they are creating a no mans land between 2 sets of supporters who have no history of fighting with each other.
63.00
Thats a brilliant crowd, cant imagine shels took more than 500, so 5,000 home support is excellent, well done.
Another victory for Shels.....? When was the first one ?They can't even beat us off the pitch, let alone onit (unless they go to court, that is).
As they had 150-200 people there on Tuesday, and we keep all the gate money, it's clearly another whopping victory for the City !
Just wait and see our crowd against Cork if we're still in contention....![]()
pats official attd figures up here:
http://stpatsfc.com/attendances.php
We had a coach, a mini-bus (25 peop.) and a few drove up. However I don't think it was near 200.

I tolds you guys the average would go above the 1,000 mark, and I still predict it's more than likely to break the 1,100 mark by season's end. And the doom and gloom about attendances falling under Summer football this year will be exposed as broadly a myth...![]()
The 2 City v Drogs game had good crowds - both certainly above our rolling average. I'll ask on the Forum and let you know Pineapple.
Dundalk v Kilkenny last night probably 1,400 - 1,500
thought ye would have had a full house after last weeks win.
Thats probably our avg crowd over the last 4 or 5 in oriel (apart from the Rovers game) i thought maybe more would of been there myself but with the **** weather yesterday that probably counted out a few more.
Not the greatest game ever but 3 points all the same.
UP THE TOWN![]()
Yeah I`d go with that, def no higher than 1,500, 1,400 sounds about right. Kilkenny are no attraction, had zero away support, plus a terrible windy night, maybe floating fans just thought it would be a walk in the park and didnt bother.....................far from it, just glad to have got the 3 pts in the end.
To be fair Kilkenny made it very difficult for us. A case of move on to next week.
