I'd agree with that.. very poor if you ask me.. about 80 or so drogheda fans and very little atmosphere! but the game was good![]()
Official att. Bohs vs. Longford 1350.
We've started putting the attendances in the prog. again.
Our bar facilities are hired out on Fridays and Saturdays for functions so it makes sense to have the game on a Thursday and not lose out on this revenue. If we continue to get crowds like we got on Thursday with 10 away fans then what do I care. People like to go out on a Friday night so a Thursday game is good as people have feck all else to do other than go to the game.
Does a 'smalltime attitude' work against you in trying to get into the new 'Premiership' next season?
Seriously though we have to think about maximising our revenue and what suits our home fans before we can think about fixing games to suit possible travelling support. How much extra fans from Galway would have come to the game if it had been on Friday? Would it have made up for revenue lost in hiring out the Lilywhite Lounge? Somehow, I seriously doubt it...
Everyone goes out between Friday-Wednesday night, but not Thursday night? Is socialising in Dundalk suspended on Thursdays??Originally Posted by holidaysong
Of course not. People can and will go out any night they feel like. Thursday is pay day, and what will people do?? Go out of course.

As it turns out, I don't have a problem with Dundalk playing on Thursday nights. However, I wish all clubs were instructed by the league to play at the same day/time every week.
I think there was around 500 at the Harps V Monaghan match yesterday.
fair point and if dundalk make more money having their games on a thursday, let them have it on a thursday. we would of had another say 20/30 ppl if the match was on a friday - so no, it wouldnt have made up for loss of revenue.
i'd love if all games in both divisions were on at say 7:45 on a friday night and have a tv show on the same time giving all the latest scores - like soccer saturday in skysports. but if clubs can make more money having games on different days, thats the way its gonna stay. at the moment, the day on which games are played is all about money, which as we see from dub city - is in a shortage.
Salthill/Knocknacarra Gaa Official Website- http://www.salthillknocknacarragaa.ie/
just under 2000 at Bohs-Shels, with a massive 530 of them Shels fans.
More than I thought were there TBH.
Maybe people don't like being attacked after games![]()
According to the papers 4100 at the City vs Derry game. The torrential downpour beforehand didnt help.
1086 per the Pat's website. Only an extra 86 people, but it does bring your average above Shels' by 2 people.
Good service printing the attendances every week, but I tihnk putting up U-21 gates (67 and 85) and friendly gates (79) is a bit excessive!!

They make more money, but not a lot more money.Originally Posted by GalwayFrancis
All league games in both divisions should k.o. on Saturday nights at 8.30pm, the best time of the week to attract crowds.
