    Monaghan memories

Not too bad last night. We played quite well, were very solid on the back, but a few grumbles:
1 - Derek was an absolute joke. After wasting our best chance (not the easiest finish but if he squared it, Eric had an open goal), he reacted to some mild abuse from 1 or 2 United fans by giving us the fingers.
Then, after the game, he threatened one of the supporters from the pitch. The lad obvious has some festering personal issues and is unhappy about something.
Either that or he's a total prat, or both.
2 - Murph was very disappointing. Looked lethargic and possibly isn't fit. The old Murph, as someone said to me, would've converted his second-half chance. He strolled around at times. Very disappointing, though I expect him to improve.
3 - Midfield wasn't great. Mixie Harty isn't up to it in the centre in my opinion. Franny didn't do too badly, but is much better at the back. Raf did very well in the first half, while Philip was quiet enough.
4 - The linesman in the first half was a joke. I'd say if 20pc of his calls were right, he was doing well. Stephen Lally looked as bemused as the rest of us.

The positives were our back four and Eric. Billy had a brilliant game, while the other three looked very solid. Alan Keane is all action and heart, makes up for the fact that he's right-footed.
Eric was top notch - worked his ass off and clapped the fans when (undeservedly) substituted.
We deserved to win the game and I think we'll be much better with our best midfield and on a good pitch, especially Terryland.

O'Brien seems to react to fans a lot. I've seen him do it a good few times, most recently in our friendly a couple of weeks ago.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Thing is though Derek is dead on nearly all the time....has a laugh with the fans.He reacted to nothing on Friday....something must have been wrong with him.
