Really? Again, feel free to back it up (ditto with Cosmo). If higgins was right so often, how come Shels imploded like he denied would happen?

What are the financial implications for DUFC, ie isn't the sale of utd park based on the prop developers 'providing' a ground for dufc, does this mean the ground must be built, to 'turn key' standard or just a tallaght style field secured, then the rest to be passed to dufc to complete.

Also what about the moderate increase in attendance for drogs over the past 5 years, if crowds have risen from around 5 or 600 in the struggling first div days to just less than 2,000 today, where will all the missing fans come from to maintain the projected standard of this stadium.

I seriously mean this, I would hate to see the club go out of business due to over extending themselves long term. I`d say they are entering into a risky period with all of this.

    Best of luck to all.

Clearly Drogs have been trying to built a core support pre movement to the new stadium so that they not working off too low a base. From observations of last few seasons success does not seem to have significantly increased crowds a bit like Shels.

It is probably the same cost to build 10k as a 5k stadium but even if crowds double to 4k going to seem very empty. I am well aware our owners planning to build 25k+ stadium so same logic applies there.

Have Drogs done a deal on sale of United park already? What are the plans to make up the shortfall in new stadium cost & current assets?

United Park has been rezoned to high-density residential and the planning application is with the council. Would imagine the sale will more than cover the cost of building the new stadium.

I think it's hard to tell tbh due to the restricted capacity. Obviously will still look very empty as you said but if there had been no restriction the game against Cork at the end of last season would show the level of potential that their attendence would have, even when factoring the daytrippers into account.

I never denied that would happen.

As was pointed out you didn't have a clue what was going on at Shels at the time. You stuck your nose in thinking you did but were very often wrong.

I knew Shels were in the sh!t!! We were over spending, that was clear to me ,, www.ssdg.ie was set up before we went bust don't forget. Too little too late but don't start your crap about having heads in the sand. There's many at Shels who knew what was going on but were powerless to stop it. The facts are it was well past the point of no return before you piped up.

And I can confidently say even now that you still don't know the half of what went on.

I just didn't agree with your nonsense way of looking at things. You painted Shels as the bad guys every chance you got and twisted a lot of stories around. Things I knew at the time to be untrue. You had silly notions of how things could be turned around which is part of the reason why I knew you knew nothing about Shels.

You do like to think you know it all.
It's pretty sad to watch because having debated with you on Shels related issues it was clear you run on what you hear rather than what you know. It's part of the reason why now I can't exactly take what you're saying on here seriously.

Like what happened at Shels, it's the one or two missing pieces of what's going on that you didn't know. Any time we got down to it was clear you only had 90% of the story but you thought you knew it all. The truth is you knew very little of what was going on yet that didn't stop you mouthing off with naively thought out ways to resolve the problems. Most of the time you didn't even offer a solution I remember, happier just to sit there pointing out what you thought was wrong.

You should really ask yourself if you know 100% of the facts before you jump into things.

But Drogs have to move into a new ground in order to sell United Park.

higgins, give it over. You were buying into the wrong company, and you accuse me of not having a clue?! Knowing 100% of what's going on is not necessary. Realising you're screwed is enough.

You still have not figured out what's happening ???
I'd have thought at this stage you'd have filled in a few more blanks!

Not knowing 100% of the story was the key to your arguments. Even now you continue to lie on here. Had you known the one or two important aspects of what was going on you'd not have made yourself look so clueless.

Is it that important for you to give the impression that you are always right on here that you will lie ?

Just admit you didnt have a clue then and you don't now.

I knew Shels were screwed and had said as much long before you started up.

The difference between you and me is I was and still am basing my arguments on reality where as you hear 90% of a story assume the rest and post on an internet forum about how great you are without ever giving any realistic answers. It is usually the one or two things you're unaware of that change everything.

Should this thread not be moved to the drogheda section, or confined to the "stadium updates", seeing as my thread about the builders being back on site for the first time in 7 years was moved.... A bit hypocritical I thought...

PS: Good luck to drogs I hope this stadium goes ahead - United park isnt fit for its purpose

    ....you actually moved it...

I just think topics like these concern all LOI fans and should thus be in the main forum rather than seperate ones. Even if you look at the different fans who post in topics like these - they are mostly from other clubs -
    Ah forget it...
