with resect fintan, fans of most other clubs 'found out' about the NLSA. this seems at worst like crossed wires, not a conspiracy to keep you out.
deep breaths there fintan

The NLSA will appear in wednesday the 15th herald fans page.
GB you sound frustrated so why dont join?! Were you involved in NLU?
Fintan with all due respect we are not an ego trip. The NLSA is open to ALL EL fans and SCs. The link you posted up was to invite ANYONE interested to attend that open meeting in October. If you were so concerned why didnt you show?

I'm concerned that a group of people falsely purporting to represent all or even a majority of eL supporters, made a submission to Genesis and met with the FAI, on behalf of eL supporters, when clearly they had no such mandate to do so.
On that last point, I'd be more concerned that Genesis didn't consult more widely in general but that's probably wandering off topic.
They do represent a group of eL fans. They are the only national eL fans grouping. What exactly is the problem? The fact that some people are too stubborn or lazy to join doesn't change that fact. Would you rather that no eL fans had had meetings with the FAI or made submissions to Genisis? Because if you take out the nlsa contribution, you are left with nothing.
Mind you, I suppose the Shels supporters club has direct access to the top of the FAI these days anyway, given the relationship between Ollie and Delaney. It certainly raises the question of whether some clubs have an agenda in discrediting the nlsa.

Spot on, totally agree with that. It basically echos the sentiments of a lot of City fans I spoke with last week.Originally Posted by Fintan Cassidy

Have you talked to A Face? As he says what is the alternative? Sit and bang away on a keyboard or join a fans group with a say?
We have met the FAI/EL and they want our contribution. There is no conspiracy. As Macy says I fail to see the problem.

Those of you moaning. Why not join the NLSA, get in contact with its organisers and attend its meetings? You can join it and make it yours too.
From reading the threads I think it boils down to this:
1) Some fans of Clubs not involved in the NLSA could have a problem with the idea that this body appears to represent the entire league supporters clubs or could be used as such when it in fact doesn't.
2) People in the NLSA are confused as to why people not in it are complaining about not being included when they can join now and then they would be included.
I think the solution to all this is the NLSA just clearly state who they represent and ensure when speaking as a body should as the FAI or Genesis, they state they doesn't represent x,y and z!!
Apart from that, I don't care cos I am tired.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
This thread is laughable.
The NLSA can only represent its members, as a proxy for EL fans at large.
If you don`t like its approach, join & influence from within. As membership grows it will become more representative but it had to start somewhere.
And as for stating who the NLSA doesn`t represent in every communication? Get real...
It sounds to me like Shels have discussed it, decided not to join & are now trying to undermine from the outside. Which is par for the course.....
BTW I`ve no axe to grind, I haven't got round to joining yet.

Lads, if there is anything you are unsure about then now is a good time to ask.
Dont post anything that you are guessing about or a have preconceived opinion about. Try finding out where the NLSA actually stand on whatever issue.
If anyone wants to ask another question that will detract from the debate, please start a new thread.

Down to individual fans who are not members? This is bullshít of the highest order. The nlsa represent their members, who are el fans. What is so hard to comprehend?Originally Posted by Gareth

And btw I'm not a member left (form and cheque in the post) - but don't worry nlsa, you don't have to put my name on the non member's list of any documents![]()

Do the Shels supporter club make it clear which of the Shels fans they represent? Once the NLSA get most of the supporters clubs on board I have no problem with them stating that they represent me, despite me not being a member.Originally Posted by Gareth

Don't see what the arguement shels have here. IMO the NLSA has the best interests of supporters at the heart of the organisation. They Represent El fans and I think all El fans should be glad to have representation at long last. I see ego's here everywhere! what did shels want an open invitation for all clubs and a seperate personal one just for them because they are to quote Fintan "So Prominent" get a grip and get behind the NLSA. they're behind all us El fans ffs.
note (I am not a member yet cause I keep forgetting to go to the post office for a postal order to send off my application)
To be honest ... that will be the way it'll pan out alright i'd say. So far the arguments aganist aint up to much it has to be said.Originally Posted by bigmac

No I haven't spoken to A face about the matter but I have spoken to other people who are members and they say they have not even been informed about meetings etc and the first they saw of some recent statement or minutes was when it was posted on our forum. Even the person who the NLSA seems to be touting as our representative didn't even know he was supposedly our representative!!!!Originally Posted by NY Hoop
To quote one City fan "it's just a load of Dublin City and UCD fans on a pwer trip getting above their station". Now I know that's not the case but if that's the perception out there it's not good.

Absolutely spot on. They seem to be claiming to represent EL supporters when they have no right, down the line when it's properly up and running and they are affiliated with at least 2 or 3 supporters groups from EVERY club that would be perfectly fine but it's too soon to be doing so. Walk before you can run i.e. get the thing off the ground and set up before you start issuing statements and meeting with the FAI etc.Originally Posted by Gareth
