    www.needahotel.com

Used thema few times. Never any bother. usually good rates. They aalways give the total price.

www.hotels.com is the big one but I found the other one cheaper and hotels.com adds in charges right at the death (similar to airlines)

Actually klein - you should try 'tripadvisor.com' - they give a whole pile of hotel reviews by customers too.

Check out www.laterooms.com. Just used them. Excellent last minute bookings.

If it's hostels you are after try hostelworld.com

I went inter-railing last year and organised all my accomodation via this site. Has brilliant variety and prices are usually very cheap.

There are also hotel sites in individual countries... the Irish one would be
    www.hotels.ie for example

Just used www.hotels.com for a good deal. Cheaper than the hotel site itself and way cheaapper than I thought it'd be. We'll see if there's any hassle over there

Avoid tripadvisor at all costs. Especially if your going to Italy. As a matter of curiousity I looked up a few places when I was in Italy on Tripadvisor and the reviews where posted by waht can only be the owners and the competitors.

www.irelandin1.com is ok at times. But there are tons of them out there. If your going abroad, check out the Best Western website, the Raddisson website and you might stumble across something.

The problem with tripadvisor and the like is that people post to either moan about a hotel or praise it from high heaven, so a lot of the reviews are either 1/5 or 5/5 ratings.

i've used Hotels.com in the past, with great success.
