Don't get me wrong, I could possibly watch a complete re-run of a Derry City or Cork City, but I couldn't do it for two teams I had no interest in. I think we need to be aiming for TV audiences that are not just comprised of fans of the two participant teams, and so I don't think "as live" (deferred) is a good idea for the eL. I think a 90 show with all the weekend's matches would be much more worthwhile. I also think that repeating the highlights program on Thursday night would be a good idea.Originally Posted by CollegeTillIDie

That looks great the way between TG4 and RTE there'll be a weekly live league game for the last full round of matches. Plus the cup matches thrown in.

For Ireland matches the 'as live' starts straight after the game - is this the case for the eL matches or are they talking about 'as live' the following day? Is it a way for Setanta to fill up their daytime or weekend schedules by showing old matches?Originally Posted by CollegeTillIDie
By the way - don't want to be overly negative - its great that so many matches will be broadcast. Are there plans for a good highlights package too - preferably on at a time when younger viewers can watch it.![]()

I think last year Setanta showed a couple of "as live" games starting at 9.45 on Friday night. Just after the games finished effectivelyOriginally Posted by LFC in Exile

I don't know what TV viewing figures for Cork City v Bohs on RTE2 but did not make top 20 programmes that week which means not more than 129k.
Latest Ratings here
Pete,
Can we list the viewing figures (where known) alongside the list of games as well ? Aertel Page 369 gives the Toip 10 most-watched RTE shows approx 1 week later (i.e. on a week-ending Sunday basis).

Here's an alternative site that gives the Top 20 for all channels : http://www.medialive.ie/index.html
I will add the tv figures if they are available. Unfortunately City v Bohs not even make the top 20. Maybe i'll put down as <130k?
All the OB Units will be at Bogball games in June to August so seeing a live game at weekends is going to be impossible.... which is why European games get them off the hook. Live games midweek and they can get the OB units back to the GAH pitches by the weekendOriginally Posted by pineapple stu
