    Charlton to make Lansdowne return
    February 23, 2006

Former Republic of Ireland senior manager Jack Charlton will return to the
Lansdowne Road dug-out later this year – more than a decade after he
last took charge of the Irish side.

Charlton’s phenomenally successful term at the helm of Ireland came to
an end with the 1995 European Championships play-off defeat at the hands
    of Holland at Anfield.

And the controversial yet highly popular Geordie will be back at Lansdowne
Road in May to manage a celebrity side against a team of Irish legends,
which will include the likes of Packie Bonner, Ronnie Whelan and Jason McAteer.

Wonder will he give Ronnie a game ?
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

In fairness to Trigger he is filling a gap in the market that is not used enough to create funds for charities...anyone know what charities his fundraisers go to? I know he's not that well liked among the fans (and kinda understandably so) but at least he's doin something even if its not for the right reasons.

They'll be doing well to fill Lansdowne for a "celebrity" match. Might be better to have Mick Mc manage one team and Roy K the other. That would fill the place with a partisan support on each side

Quite clearly, Big Jack should be managing the team of Irish legends.
"They might be a better footballing side than us, but we can go out there and get a result.
Jason, i want you to go out there and put that McFadden lad under pressure. Ronnie, i want you to stick on the Keating lad."
