What people think of him as a player has nothing whatsoever got to do with this post the lad could lose his sight FFS and complete and utter arseholes start commenting on him as a player.

Stupid comment to make in fairness ! the poor bloke could loose sight in one of his eyes and your talking about how sh*te he is.......

Really hope he makes a full recovery and gets back playing ball asap, but it's not looking great for him at the moment

Jesus I knew it was serious. is it that bad? and anyway seen as how muppetts on here seem intent on commenting on his playing credentials I'll had my 2 cents worth I think Momo gives us the toughness in midfield that we've been missing for a long time. hope he gets back and soon

    Fears grow for Sissoko eyesight

Liverpool's Mohamed Sissoko faces an anxious wait to discover if his eye injury could threaten his career.
The 21-year-old midfielder suffered retina damage after he was kicked in the face in Tuesday's loss at Benfica.

"The prognosis is guarded but vision will be compromised on the right side," said Joao Paco, the doctor who treated Sissoko at Lisbon's CUF hospital.

"We can't say now if it's going to be 20% or 80%, it's premature. You have to wait for the next 48 or 72 hours."

Sissoko returned to the UK on Wednesday and will be examined by an eye specialist in London on Thursday.

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry told the club website: "We don't want to sound too pessimistic because it's too early to tell.

"What Momo needs right now is our support and the best care he can get.

"His right eye is closed down and it's been difficult to assess the damage because of the swelling and bleeding.

"Obviously this is a very traumatic time for Momo and the club is in constant contact with his family and representatives. It's a very nasty injury."

Benfica's midfielder Beto said he had not intended to injure Sissoko, who was stretchered off after 35 minutes.

"My boot caught Sissoko in the face and it opened a big wound around the eye," said the Brazilian.

"I want to apologise - I did not mean to injure him. It was just a typical 50-50 midfield situation that happens all the time.

"It happened, but I did not mean to harm him and I hope he recovers quickly."

Mali international Sissoko has impressed since moving from Valencia for £5.6m last summer.

The lad said he hopes he gets better - what more do you want? Doesn't mean he can't comment on his skills as a footballer and I'm in agreement that he's not that good.

Still hope he doesn't lose his sight. Over-reaction, chill out buddy.

Don't want to make a big deal out of it but he replied to a post about the lad possibly losing his sight and started commenting on him as a player a bit silly to say the least fair enough he did hope he'd get better but why add in what he thinks of him as a player when the post had nothing to do with it anyway lets leave it at that and just remember Paul Scholes is supposedly and i say supposedly in possibly a similar postion so we shouldn't forget him either.

I think he is a good player! he's only 21 also. He was Liverpool's best player against Utd the other day possibly!
as a Man Utd fan, i hope he makes a full and swift recovery!!

I think it is a perfectly apt situation to comment on his playing ability - he is an excellent player, crucial to Liverpool and the effect of his departure on Tueday could be seen. Hamann might be more assured, but he doesn't have the energy of Sissoko. At times this season, Sissoko has been immense in his performances and where he gets his energy from is beyond me. His performance away to Chel$ea in the CL and Arsenal at home in the league were nothing short of brilliant. It may also seem that I am looking back at his season so far with overly fond memories, but I have not been as impressed with a new signing and Liverpool will now lose an extra 6-8 points this season at least, imo. Hamann goes nowhere near replacing him - a real box-to-box player without any attacking input, but then again he's only 20. A year or two learning from Hamann to give him 'calmness' and he would've a brilliant player. Let's hope it's a relatively short layoff.

I mean he could've went to Everton, FFS...

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
