Bringing your Partner on Away Trips

What are peoples views on bringing your Partner on away trips. Do you think you can have as much fun your partner is there when you are away with the lads or girls or whatever it may be for you. What are peoples views.

My girlfriend has no interest what so ever in football so she never wants
to go to away matches (or home games for that matter) incase it'll spoil
    the craic with the lads.

I was talking to a guy recently who goes to Scotland games. His ex wanted to go to away games and he said it was just a lads trip. However a few months later his mate accidently hung him by bringing up the fact that him and a few of the lads were bringing their GF's to the an away trip.

My view is that its like a shopping trip to New York with the girls which I would have not interest in going.

Dont worry girls I am not suggesting that girls should not be going on away trips though

It depends on what interest and kind of relationship you have!! my other half started travelling since Moscow - she said no way was i going on my own after just being away for 3 weeks in Japan / Korea. we then decided o bring the girls 9 and 11 at the time, now all four of us go to the games and no it doesnt spoilt the fun. Mind you they didnt do israel and got really ****ed with it afterwards as it was a fab trip. also theres plently of girls that travel such as the famous cathy and others and they have a great time even without a bottle of JD for breakfast in Glasgow!! As long as they dont insist on you going home early if they fade the're ok

Twice the people, half the fun.

I'm in a similar situation as ASH although the other half came to Cyprus last year and is booked for this year.(ME being tight and combining football with summer hols) But generally it's a trip with the lads for me.
Must add, I dont care what sex of fan attend our matches as long as they get behind the team.

the away trip is the last bastion of the tied up man.. you take away that you may as well take away his life. certain ones are allowed like cyprus (****HOLE) for a weeks holidays but short city breaks is a no go..

what am i talking about? never brought a girl with me

I think it's good if it stops you jumping on your roommate's bones.

I always bring my boyfriend to away trips.

He comes in handy scares off the boys who are on the rampage and act like they have never seen a woman before (What is it with Irish men on away trips)!!
And I still have a laugh with the girls and support the team!!

The wife comes along if none of the lads is going on a particular trip but only in such circumstances. She likes to travel but little interest in football. However, she did close her eyes and couldn't look when Wednesday had a peno in the Millennium Stadium in the play off final last June with just a few minutes to go. Wednesday scored. This beefy Yorkshire guy beside her grabbed her and wheeled her around and said "hey lass, this is much better than sex isn't it" to which she replied "Yes!"
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
