Who are UCD likely to have up front this year then? McWalter, Sammon, Byrne? You seem to have a potentially excellent midfield with Cawley back to add to McDonnell, Dicker and Hurley, but very little up front.

Off-topic, but as an aside, any fond memories of Lloyd Colfer?? I'm trying to get to grips with having almost an entirely unheard of new squad.

Two Byrnes (Conan and Paul; the latter has four goals in nine games for us and is a quality player if he can only get fit) and Ciarαn Quinn, who signed from Monaghan. Which doesn't say too much, but he's not done too badly so far.

Lloyd Colfer played about two games for us (his full appearance stats are downloadable from www.stigonline.com in Excel format), so no real memories of him, good or bad, other than the strange name. Search for "Colfer" in the UCD section and you'll find a strange song about him. Other than that, a non-entity really.

That file is at the bottom of this page.

A strange song? The only thing I remember about him was the suggestion that nothing sensible rhymes with Colfer. Similar problems have arisen in relation to Kevin Grogan and many other players, but Colfer probably resulted in more cringe-inducing "songs" than the rest of them put together.

OK, to the tune of Flipper...

"They call him Colfer, Colfer, Colfer the Striker,
Name sounds like he, is from Trinity,
Doesn't play cricket but his second name sounds like Golfer,
Lloyd Colfer please, score for UCD"

You can't spell failure without FAI

Thanks for that. That's a great resource to have (the excel sheet, not the awful songs). I'd love if we had the same, but don't think anyone has ever kept the details together. Some names there I didn't know played for UCD.

Incidentally, Colfer is a reasonably common name in the south-east. We might work something out with the colfer/golfer rhyme. Three pre-season goals for us. Looks one of the better newbies.

Incorrect. More than €9,999 maybe . Still, doesn't really matter. A fair price really

Would it be less that €10,001?

Well I insist that my source said a figure over €15,000 and less than €18,000

Well my source is impeccable I'm afraid, couldn't be a better one at our end and it's definitely 10k. As they say in Bohs, FACT.

Well fair enough, my source would have been more in the know some time ago.

Seeing as we have "closer to twenty than ten" from a club official though, we've got two sources who could hardly be better at either end...

Either way, a good bit of business for a forward who scored two league goals not from penalties last season. Good player, but never the same he was before he got injured I think.

Meant to come back to this ages ago...

CITD - our source has apologised and said "I meant to say"...and a figure rather closer to our Longford friend's FACT. In fact, the same figure as it.
