dont see the big deal over bohez and stripes.they have had a lot of non-striped jerseys over the years. they even made a very sensible decision in the 80's to wear Hoops

The most sensible decision we ever made was not taking the name 'rovers' back in 1890...far too common!
And on the Seventh Day, God created Kevin Hunt.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

suppose nothing wrong with a bit of a change, not many eL clubs keep their traditional style these days. But I mean, why have Bray converted to all green instead of stripes, which were their original colours (or were they...), same with Cork as well and Harps changing their kit from blue to white. the only club i know of that has stayed constant would be Rovers and maybe Shels... it would be quite hard to keep up if your just a casual follower...

1899, couldnt care less what a 'certain group' at rovers think, it has until their statement claiming it was 1901 always been regarded as 1899, twas even painted on the gates of Glenmalure Park, that'll do me!

No. The nearest we have to an official historian is Jimmy Conroy. Jimmy says 1899 and has much more proof and a credible story than the 1901ers. And as far as I'm concerned it's always been 1899. The 1901 rubbish comes from one bloke in a pub who spoke to Robert Goggins when he was researching his book.

I swore I wasn't going to get involved in this but Dodge, if you really want the skinny on this, I'd recommend Eoghan Rice's book We Are Rovers. (It's not a book about me and my 1899 obsession. )

I knw the situation, just wondering how many FDRs would answer me. I mean imagaine now knowing when you were founded. There's no way Delaney should let you into his club if you don't KNOW the basics...
