    Post Softic dismisses rumours

This a follow up to question in the interview above

    Softic dismisses rumours

CORK CITY’S Bosnian midfielder Admir Softic has quashed rumours emanating from his home land that Sarajevo FC are entitled to a compensation package, writes Noel Spillane. The Bosnian club where Softic played briefly as a 14-and 15 year-old schoolboy are reportedly claiming a €100,000 compensation package from Cork City. But Softic, who is in Portadown for City’s Setanta Cup opener tonight, (7.45pm) poured cold water on the story.

“There is no question of Cork City having to pay any sort of compensation to Sarajevo for me. The story is ridiculous and has nothing whatsoever
to do with me,” he told Noel Spillane. “I never signed any schoolboy forms with Sarajevo when I played for them. I was never paid by them at any stage and, on top of that, I had my international clearance papers from the Bosnian FA all in order before I set foot in Ireland.

“I get a few phone calls from journalists and press people back home every now and then just to see how my career is progressing and obviously these stories seem to have alerted Sarajevo FC but they have no hold on me at
    all.”
