It would take 7,000 comfortably enough, not sure on capacity though maybe 8,000.
Bring as many as you can !! Should be a good night...
what's the capacity of the showgrounds these days? from the looks of things, we're going to bring loads up on March 18 and its your first home game in the Premier so should be a big crowd

I think you are overdoing it a bit there, there was approx 5000 at the athlone (last) game and the place was jammers.

FAI CUP 1994
well the stands and the shed were packed but there was room at the railway end

Jinks Avenue Stand 900 (853 seated)
The Shed End 1,500 Appox.
The Railway End 1,500 Appox.

We'd probably fit more in both ends both it wouldn't be very safe
Pats counted every seat when they were down for the cup games last season. We'd fit around 300 more standing behind the seats in the new stand but it isn't allowed. Their is meant to be room for 250 more seats up there to bring the capacity up to 1800 in that stand.
Wasn't at that game RT
i was at that game will never forget the cup run that year
first game in flower lodge 25300. they never expected it and some clever guys made a lot of money that day by putting a ladder up against the wall and charging 1/2 price. the officials were not able to cope with the crowd. it was bedlam. we should have being bet 3 nil but mick graham saved the day (big black centre forward). the next game in showgies had 9500 back to flower lodge 18500and then showgies again 13000 plus. cup final had only 13800. 11000 from sligo what a game. it will always be the greatest highlight for me. we came from nowhere that year and possibly played in one of the greatest fai cup finals. the game had everything. thats what it means to follow the bit o red
