    Greatest Managers of all time

Seeing that its the 10th anniversary of the most successful manager ever in Britain Bob Paisley i thought it would be a good time to say who, in your opinion the top 3 greatest Managers/Coaches were.

    1. Paisley ( 6 LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS
    3 EUROPEAN CUPS
    3 LEAGUE CUPS
    1 UEFA CUP
    1 EUROPEAN SUPER CUP
    5 CHARITY SHIELDS
6 MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARDS in 9 years of management.

    2. Busby (he had a great team at manchester united even after the munich disaster)
    3. Capello ( has won cups and leagues where ever he has gone...also that milan team in the early 90s........)

Im sure there are many great coaches in different leagues with great historys and honours but of those that i know theyd be my 3.....i think

Jock Stein is the most successful if you're talking sheer quantity of trophies.

    10 Scottish League Championships
    9 Scottish Cups
    6 Scottish League Cups
    1 European Cup.

This could be a tough one. I think their probably should be 3 catagories here:

    Greatest Domestic manager (any league)

    Greatest British manager

    Greatest Manager ever.

or something on those lines. Like can you really compare Jock Stein adn Fabio Capello? Not in my opinion. Or Trapatonni for that matter? Perhaps not.

I'd have to think a while before committing to anything on paper.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

Arrigo Sacchi had a lot to do with that Milan team in the 90s. He won the European cup with them in 89 and 90.

    I can't really pick a top 3.
I think all of the following should be considered
Stein - won the European cup with a side of local players and a lot more besides
    Paisley
    Ferguson - rebuilt Man Utd.
    Clough
    Busby
    Shankly??
Arrigo Sacchi + Fabio Capello for Ac Milan sides of late 80's early 90's
Rinus Michels - Dutch Inventor of Total Football.

yeah sacchi had alot to do with that milan team also. i just think capello proved himself in other countries and other teams too but sacchi's style of football was great too i think
Many liverpool fans believe Shankly was greater than Paisley coz he was the one who took liverpool from the 2nd division to win 3 league titles and their first cup in europe the uefa.......
There is no doubt that Paisley's era as manager was more fruitful than Shankly's in terms of trophies won. Also, it seems fair to speculate that much of what Shankly achieved would not have been possible without Bob Paisley's calm influence and knowledge of the game. But it is equally likely that without the driving force and sheer charisma of Shankly, Liverpool's spell in the doldrums in the 1950s would have reached long into the 60s and perhaps even further and Bob Paisley may never have become manager at all.

Quinn said nothing that was not widely known anyway. That has all been well documented before to be honest.

As far as I know Paisley had an onset Alzheimers around the time he was in with a shot of becoming the Irish manager.

Because of what he did with no money at Leiria, then what he did at Porto and Chelsea would've won the league in 2004 if Ranieri was as tactically spot-on as Mourinho is.
