not to many people have access to the internet from where they play their 5 a side so...No.
Here is an idea for a website. I'd appreciate any thoughts on the matter.
You know the way every week in your organised 5-a-side game, somebody can't make it, and you have to scramble for a replacement at the last minute, involving loads of phonecalls or texts - a complete mess, just to try and ensure that you have even numbers - well, what if there was a website that could do all this for you.
It would be like an online dating service (not that i know how these work) where people who fancy a casual game of ball, enters a few details about themselves - e.g. location, availability etc.
When your group is a player short on the day of a game, you go to the website, do a search including the location and the time of the game, and are given a list of players who are available and interested. You can then email them an invite. Players could get a ebay-style feedback score to discourage no-shows.
Would it work?
And feedback?

I refer back to my post
"When your group is a player short on the day of a game, you go to the website,"
If most people play in the evening, they could access the website earlier that day - from work, or college or wherever
I know how you feel mate, it's quite annoying when someone can't make it and therefore you ring everyone to make the numbers up. It sounds like a good idea to me!!![]()

Who Cares?!
Don't be stupid, the stars, kid, I think this is a great idea and know that myself and others would certainly use it!
Sitting pretty!!!
very good idea
Great idea, you could get in touch with all the places that offer five a side pitches and offer them advertising onit, you could make yourself a few bob!

here is an addition to it, kid i would have kept this to yourself.
but its possible to write a sms service that goes and MMS server that can redirect the texts to a phone.
so you can simply txt a number, that the database is indirectly connected to, and then from there you will receive a reply ( can be based geographically i.e. locatin etc ) with a number of who is available and where.
Therefore you dont need to BE on the web, like the stars said. it eradicates all calls.
you can make it even more intelligent by creating an alert to that person saying there is a game going on at 8 and bring your stuff.
does that make sense to you???
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
yeah its a deadly idea and am surprised someone hasnt thought if already. but ya would have to divide people up into different standards of player or something.
you'd never get a game then klein.

it means he would be more at home on www.gaa.ie.
I think you will find that the game where the ball is at the foot most of the time is in fact FOOTBALL as in the U.E.F.A and F.I.F.A. variety.
Bogball is an appropriate nickname for the native code as it is played by bogmen and wanna be bogmen from cities![]()
