ouch...flights to vienna up by a ton
flights are shooting up. bout 150 now dublin vienna. glad i got it for 55!!!!
Same here, maybe there were a limited number of e55 seats on the flight and they sold out fairly quickly. If Aer Lingus really wanted to they could have started the seats at e150, they would have been well aware that people were watching the 330 day window to open to book as early as possible.
Also if anyone is coming back from Prague with Cze Airline, select Czech republic as the point of sale, the price will be quoted in Czech but it seems cheaper than the ones quoted in Euro, I got it for approx e135
BTW- this look like a nice way to get from Vienna to Bratislava, a boat down the Danuabe, Twin City Liner
Both Ryanair and Sky Europe fly to Bratislava so maybe worth holding off to see if you can get deals here rather than book Aer Lingus now.
They weren't available last week when I booked Aer Lingus. Fair play to them for keeping the cheap fares open.
I'm coming back on the Sunday and going back out to Prague on the Wednesday. My liver wouldn't stand up to it otherwise.![]()
the only prob with waiting for ryanair is that they admit themselves that their cheap fares aren't available for big sporting events
Lads if yez don't mind the stop-over SkyEurope are still doing cheap flights from Stansted to Bratislava. Booked mine for the Thursday (6th Sept) for £20 including taxes....not too bad at all considering the direct flight from Dublin is now up around €150...

Hibs4ever - why so ?, i am thinking of booking this with the fiancee and hoping to get tickets somehow (ebay if i dont get an away allocation) but dont want to take her somewhere if it is going to be a bit dodgy. Cant make the czech trip later in the week due to time off/cost implications so was thinking of this weekend.

We have this trip (double header to Slovakia and the Czech Republic) fully organised now. For direct flights into Vienna and out of Prague plus 7 nights accommodation in decent city centre apartments in Bratislava and Prague we paid just under €500. Happy enough with that. From what we saw it appears that apartments are definitely the way to go.
I just went on to Google and typed in "apartments Bratislava" and loads of options came up. The minimum stay varies but generally it's a couple of nights. Most of them will fit anywhere from 2 to 8, although there are a few larger ones, but remember that would would involve a few people to a room (maybe even 2 to a bed which unless the missus is going along could prove to be problematic to say the least). There's 3 of us going so we got a 3 bedroom apartment so we each have our own space. This is working out at €120 for the apartment per night.
