If you're on the Ryanair flight from Stansted back you can ring them up and they'll put you on the flight the following morning. Just have a night of boozing in the airport. Is it definitely 24 hour there?

Meeting with Germany fans in Stuttgart

As previously posted the Official German Fans club want to meet up before the game in Stuttgart and have arranged a beer garden for the occasion.

Ansgar Marx, the local rep, has sent me the following details of the arrangements of the meet location which is only 200m from the stadium

Hi to all Irish football fans!

In the course of the international football match Germany vs. Ireland on September 2nd, 2006, the fanclub of the german national football team has organized a meeting of fans, which will take place at:

Station - Gastronomie Daferner (Gastronomy of the VFL Stuttgart)
    Mercedesstrasse 90
    Suttgart
    www.stadion-gastronomie.de

The typical german beergarden is located next door to the Mercedes Museum, about 200m away from the stadion. A BBQ with freshly grilled meat as well as local beer will be provided for you guys as well. Besides, we contracted a DJ, who will also be happy to play some of your irish CD's! A football ground including a big screen is situated next to the beer garden, so everybody without tickets will also have a possibility to watch the match.

The party starts from 3 p.m. (15:00) on!

We hope you guys are all going to join us and we're very looking forward to an afternoon of convivial drinking! :-)

Greetings from Germany & See you!!!

Fair play to these guys. Could not imagine the same being done from our side. Great idea to have a big screen outside the ground for all those who don't manage to get their hands on tickets!
A bit of grub and a fill of beer just 220m from the stadium..............sure ya couldn't bate it with a stick!
There'll be snow on that one.

Also, not bad. It is beside a gas station (possibily to buy drinks very late) and beside Club Prag, a disco (http://www.club-prag.de/)

And it´s really takes 4 stops to the main staion

Just checked their webiste. Perfectly situated to the S-Bahn, you get very qucik to the stadium. Would take about 10 minutes into the city centre by the S-Bahn. I t takes longer to get there by taxi. Obertürkheim is on the outskirts of Stuttgart, so it will be not so lively. As i live in the south of Stuttgart, I´m not sure if they are good pubs in the Obertürkheim are. Hope this helps a bit.

This is great, I hope all the Irish fans do make a big effort to get to the stadium early so they can go to this for a while. German beer and sausages yum!
