Anyone who believes that Gerry McMahon can guarantee match tickets is mad. When we played France a couple of years ago, tour operators such as Stephen's Green Travel and Abbey Travel advertised saying they had match tickets. When I contacted them, they told me that they would not be held accountable if they didn't get hold of match tickets. Stay well clear of McMahon Travel.Originally Posted by jbyrne

1) May have sources in Germany to get home ticketsOriginally Posted by jbyrne
2) Could be bluffing and reckon on picking them up through agencies.
If tickets prove really difficult like Basle 03 will probably have an out clause to chage more or renege.
The only Irish Travel Agent that can guarantee away end tickets is Treacy. Frankly I think you'd be far better off dealing with the touts and far cheaper to book your own trip an dtake your chances with the touts than book with an Agent.
Haven't seen anyone mention it already so may as well say that there is a German Wine Festival on the weekend of the match in Stuttgart, begins August 30th to September 10th
Bring it on!At the end of August wine connoisseurs and wine lovers from all over the world return to the beautiful state capital of Baden-Württemberg to visit the most delightful and largest wine festival in Germany, the popular Stuttgart Wine Village "Stuttgarter Weindorf".
More than 259 wines from Baden-Württemberg are sold in more than 120 lovingly decorated wine bowers on "Marktplatz" and "Schillerplatz" around the Old Castle.
Enjoy the typical regional specialities such as meat and spinach stuffing in pasta pockets ("Maultaschen"), Swabian cheese noodles ("Kässpätzle"), potato noodles with kraut ("Schupfnudeln mit Kraut"), etc.
Apologies for that.Originally Posted by Dodge
As Gary says, you'd probably get a better price from the touts.

Just on the Gerry McMahon offer - they told me that tickets are guaranteed but not with the Irish fans - still think it's about €250 too expensive though but if people can afford it then good luck to them
Exactly. Tickets have not even gone on sale yet, the fact they are saying they will be home end tickets, just means they'll be doing what any one of us will be doing i.e. trying to source tickets through contacts, friends, work etc... the only differnece being they'll stick a nice 200 euro premium on them.
avoid at all cost - fcukers............

Decent hotel available for €135 per room in Stuttgart. The price also includes free travel on all local transport. Situated right in centre of Stuttgart at main train station, handy when coming in from airport by metro,Inter city hotel
