ATHLONE TOWN PRESS RELEASE - 03/02/06
Hungary For Success
ATHLONE TOWN boss Michael O'Connor has revealed details of one of the three Hungarian players who will be attending trials with the Club in the coming weeks.
25-year-old Lakatos István will arrive for training on Wednesday February 8th, before taking part in three friendlies during his stay.
The first of these friendlies is against Bohemians on Friday February 10th. Kick-off in Saint Mel's Park will be at 7:30pm.
The right-winger has scored three goals in 12 starts for his Nyíregyháza Spartacus side, who are currently in fifth spot in the Hungarian First Division.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Now that I think about it. Sligoman, are there many foreign people in Sligo - maybe some footballers among them??? Any playing the local Junior league, for example??
There are hundreds of Brazilians in Gort and Roscommon - surely there has to be a decent footballer among them all.
Remember Pedro de Lima and another Braxilian whose name I can't remember playing for Drogheda in the 80s.
While I'm at it. What's the story about David Pugh. As a coach, he had an amzing record coaching Summerhill College - what a fantastic chap to be involved with the under age set up in Rovers?? Especially since he's retired from teaching and evreything although he might not be too well lately.
