On The Road - Longford, SB Memorial Cup

On Saturday last, a packed “Cootes Coach” departed for Flancare Park to
cheer on Athlone Town as they took on local rivals Longford Town in the Shane
Brennan Memorial Cup. Although the final result was not favourable to the
travelling Cootes, everyone kept singing for 90 minutes and gave the occasion
the atmosphere it deserved.

And as the cup was being presented a fitting chant of “There’s Only One
Shane Brennan” came booming from the Cootes section and was complimented
with singing from the Longford “Section O” Supporters.

The Cootes then proceeded ot take over the Longford dugout and we
also done our best to get Andy Myler to come home
