Unhappy Death of Lua Lua's child hidden from him...

FOOTBALL star Lomana Tresor LuaLua was last night mourning the death of his 18-month-old son — after the news was kept from him by officials for TWO WEEKS.
The tot died in Britain on January 20 from a mystery illness.

But Congolese chiefs did not tell their captain to avoid distracting him as he played in the African Cup of Nations.

They only broke the news after the Democratic Republic of Congo lost their quarter final to hosts Egypt.

Shocked Portsmouth star LuaLua, 25, flew home from the tournament 24 hours early.

That's a terrible thing to do on the guy, he should never play for them again. That's just lousy.

Surely he'd have been in contact with someone in his family over the previous fortnight who would have told him(?)

I presume there's a possibility that this might have been the decision of his family. I'd imagine if they wanted to let him know it would have been very hard to stop them.

Very disgusting but i think possibly justifiable seen as it appears now to have been his familys decision.

Its his father broke the news to him and quite simply my explanation is it was a very distressing period. His family mustn't have known what the feck they were thinking and made a very very bad decision. Just an added tragedy really. No bad intention.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

But the way that the Congalese FA have treated the squad in general is awful. This is just subhuman, no matter what the circumstances are.

I extend my sympathies to Monsieur Lua Lua and Madame Lua Lua. It is a terrible thing to lose a child for any parents. It goes against the natural order. One is supposed to be survived by one's offspring. And if it can happen to a relatively prosperous person as Lomana Lua Lua undoubtely is, then it can happen to anyone. Keeping it from him was bad but other tales had been circulating about his family members.

Apparently the story going around some weeks ago was that his father had died rather than his child.

This is really really Fcuked up weather it was the Family or the congolese FA no one has the right to deny a father the opportunity to attend his own child's funeral.Total fcuking b@stards whoever took that decision.

check out Mortality rates for the region.

a lot of african people have a slightly different perspective on the whole life/death thing than we do in this part of the world. In some ways this sort of thing is quite in keeping with what you'd expect given circumstances. Not suggesting it is for this guy - but for a lot of africans certainly.
