4. Let it come down (Spiritualized)
5. Cosmic Game (Thievery Corporation)

MOT
The second coming by the Stone Roses. Not the worst album in the world but when you compare it to the 1st album and the fact that it took them something like 5 years to make it. Then it woukld be may biggest disappointment.

To each his own etc, but I don't agree with the criticisms of the Second Coming album, it sounds like a re-hashed opinion of a certain British Music publication which has an agenda against the Roses an agenda in favour of bands like the Libertines!
Second Coming is completely different to the Stone Roses LP, and I think that it is a fantasitc album which has aged brilliantly, and features the best songwriting and musicanship that the Roses have produced. it doens't have the "dance" vibe that TSR LP had, but it is a dark, guitar oriented album and I love it. The critical mauling at the time I believe was largely down to the Roses refusing to speak to the press (bar the Big Issue) in promotion of the album. Go onto a Stone Roses message board and ask what they think of the Second Coming album and you will see how highly it is rated. It is played more often on my MP3 player than TSR LP anyway!
It's record sales surpass that of their first album too.
Also, it didn't take them 5 years to make it. They started recording it in late '92 due to legal restrictions (in reality the album began recording much later) and it was released in 1994.
Songs like Ten Storey Love Song are classic Roses melodic tunes, songs like Driving South and Love Spreads are classic hard-guitar driven rock songs, and songs like Your Star Will Shine and Tears are beautiful acoustic gems. In my opinion it really is a great album.
Most disappointing album is in my opinion Standing on the Shoulder of Giants by Oasis.
Their first two are classics, Be Here Now is deeply flawed but certainly not below average, and they needed to regain their momentum with the next album. They didn't, and as result of that I think that they lost the chance of getting the next generation of kids into the band.

Glad someone said that, amazing song... Most disappointing album, 'Hail to the Thief' Radiohead, (some really disappointing tracks on it), 'Room on Fire' The Strokes (same as first only not as good), 'Rhythm and Stealth' Leftfield (although there are a few classics there), Manic Street Preachers 'Know your Enemy' (too long, and some v dodgy songs on it. Miss Europa Disco Dancer, what the f*ck was that!!!!)Originally Posted by Beavis

For my money, Rhythm and Stealth is a better album than Leftism (both are classics). Except for "Afrika Shok," which I can't listen to at all.
Kind of surprised to see that people like Second Coming so much. I gave my copy away after about a year of trying to like it. It had nothing to do with the music press--I think the average British Tabloid has better prose than most music magazines, so I don't read music magazines--I just couldn't get into it at all.
I didn't think Hail to the Thief was that bad, though it certainly had some dodgy tracks on it. I think I'm probably alone in this, but the only Radiohead album I really don't like is OK Computer.
A new day at midnight - David Gray
Holy Wood - Marilyn Manson
South - Heather Nova
Hello pig - The Levellers
Never said it was a bad album just said I found it to be a disappointment.I would agree Ten storey love song love spreads and begging you are all great songs.Originally Posted by ThatGuy

I am the only one who prefers Second Coming to the original Stone Roses album? Much better songs and has the greatest Stone Roses anthem on it, Ten Storey Love Song, not to mention Star Will Shine.
Anyway I'd go for Air's 10,000hrz Legend as most disappointing album
