There was a decent article in today's Mirror by Garry Doyle about Rovers and Sean Connor if any of ye seen it. I couldn't find a link to it, as naturally enough on their website all it has is English football, but it goes on to compare him a bit with Mourinho. He talks about being ruthless and having to break up the team that won the First Division once that job had been done.
He says that the new job is to consolidate our position in the Premier Division and that to do that he had to get rid of some of the players that did well last season, sentiment could not come into it. He is quoted as saying "There is no other way. I'm hugely ambitious. I want Sligo to get into European football in a couple of years and I intend putting a good team together. I believe we can do it. I believe I'm a good manager. As a coach, I feel I'm as good as anyone in this country."
............
Whatever else about him he seems to have no shortage of confidence and drive anyway!! They f*cked up with the picture beside the article though, it shows a picture from last season of Sean Connor playing for Pat's against Boh's! He must have been moonlighting on the sly!![]()

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.
