Pre-season Tournament rumour

am hearing rumours of a 4 team tournament in early july between city , $hel$ , rovers and Glasgow Celtic of Scotland (not the irish celtic btw )

only a rumour though.. so not sure how true or not

Where did you hear that rumour James?

Was it suggested where it would be played?

Would be good to see it happening.

Games v Rovers & Shels would gauge how well we might do next season.

My guess is we'll end up 4th and have an Intertot cup trip to Cyprus come June 2004!!!

I havent heard anything about it.
In todays Echo it says that city are hoping to organise friendlies against Cobh, Limerick and Waterford.

Sounds exciting and should really prepare us for the new season!! Not!

Seriously though, shouldnt we be trying to get friendlies against a better standard of opposition. I know the season is starting early and the world cup is on but still. I like the sound of that tournament but wont Celtic have a few players in the world cup so I doubt if they would be interested but you never know, i suppose.

Lets face it, with the timing of our new season, friendlies will now take place mid-week well into our season if at all. Pre-season will now be mostly made up of local friendlies....theres no other way out of it

Is a good one though...then you think about it and it gets more and more unlikely...

ok heard it from someone else today
what they said wether true or not is the first week in july

apparently someone in rovers is spreading the rumour around

maybe pete or someone in the pale can dig around something on it!
