Best be ordering that extra large banwagon for the 762,800 who will naturally be at each Cork game next season.Originally Posted by Pablo

Funniest was when Cork lost to Rovers back in 94 I think, the match before Richardson got sacked.
In the first hal;f, all my Father did was rip the p1ss out of him, and gradually everyone joined in.Eventually about 80/90 people behind him were just resorting to barracking him, most of these were young kids and old people, you would have had to have been there.
Good to see the city-rovers ribbing/hatred/****taking back to normal on this thread. All those love ins this year were too much to take.
Cork City FC
It was Simon Webb who did that.Originally Posted by Réiteoir

Don O'Riordon was in charge at the time so we were obviously losing,1-0 at the time.
Ref was giving some bad dicisions so one Rovers fan,Diner Coyle,Jumped the wall, onto the pitch and ran towards the ref.
All Galway and Sligo fans will agree.
An attempted flyin' header by Jose 'giz a wave' Mokendi for Derry City in one of his first games in 1985/86 (vs EMFA in Dec ?).
To say he mis-timed his flight and the ball's trajectory would be an understatement. He'd dived, hit his face flat on the ground, got back up again and dusted himself off, before the ball was anywhere near the right position for him. Cue 10,000 Derry fans absolutely wetting themselves with laughter. Had to be seen to be appreciated.....
The man was a rubbish footballer, but a lovely character, so the fan's loved him ! His son Mark is a quality player by all accounts though. He's on our reserve books and we've just loaned him out to Harps for a year.
"Jose - give us a wave...!"
Two moments come to mind at this point, first is in what may have been Pete Mahon's last game in charge of Bohs, he was under huge pressure, we were probably losing, a ball went out of play near the dugout and he ran to kick it back but slipped and fell spectacularly on his arss.
The other is Bohs v Skerries in the FAI Cup, Bohs had a throw and some auld lad from Skerries ran to the hoardings and threw his program at Webb and started going beserk at him. Webb's response was pure class, he calmly picked up the program, immitated signing an autograph on it, and handed it back to the guy! Pure class!

My father tells a great story about a break in play during a match in the Lourdes Stadium years ago. While a player was being treated the water bottle was being passed round, the ref was a small man and was looking to have a drink of the water. However the players genuinely didn't notice him trying to get their attention to get a drink. There was relative silence in the crowd when some smart @rse shouts out 'a FFS will someone give the little fella a sup', que much hysterics on the terrace even the players heard it and were roaring with laughter.

That fella running after the ref was classic alright. Also, whenever a dog runs on and nobody can catch him, that's pretty good too.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Paul Duddy in full flight is funny aswell....First Division fans will know what im on about.
City fans buy out every shops allocation of blow-up sheep before we hold our noses and take the trip to bogland. harps fans concoct some rubbish about how every person in Derry owns a greyhound.
Play-off final and Kevin Mc Hugh scores to level it, runs to the bogmen to celebrate and does an impression of a greyhound on the track.
Must have been hilarious for the sheep but we got the last laugh when we won and celebrated in front of them. To cap it all Mc Hugh signed for the succesful north-west club on a FREE few weeks ago.
"The Derry fans were fantastic in both matches. They sang their hearts out all the time and created an even better atmosphere than the Cup Final. They were brilliant. - David Graham, Gretna striker
