I think Shels will be very determined this year to regain their title. No real Euro distraction for them - intertoto aside. The surprise element is gone in relation to Derry and while they have strengthened, 2nd season syndrome may affect them. I don't rate Doolin as a manager. He has the kind of money other managers would die for and won't deliver.

Galway to come up with Rovers playing off with Pats and Pats to go down.

That will show them up as also rans again this season.
I can't see fatigue affecting us TBH. We have a big squad but more importantly a second eleven which would walk onto most other teams in the premier. Players like Killian Brennan and Pat Mc Court fighting for one position means players can be rested without fear of inferior replacements.

Strength in depth I feel is the one downside to the Cork squad particularly in attack.

underestimate the drogs at your peril.

    4) Drogheda
A bit behind with no real challenge, like this year. Their signings to date don't inspire confidence - being bank-rolled as they are, they should be looking higher than rejects from other clubs.
Pineapple stu i know you have a thing for Doolin but I think the Drogs will challenge and be there or there abouts coming in to the back end of the season. Remember a lot of our close season signings are will make us stronger in cover for a lot of positions. Also remember Jason Gavin and Keith Fahy will be playing there first full season with us and are both great players. Add that to the fact that if the likes Gavin Whelan continues the way he was going at the end of last season we will give any team a good go. Havent even mentioned Fabio, Webb, Gray, Robinson, Bradley or Sami Ristella.

no unless you know something i dont. Jermaine Sandervielt has gone back to holland though so you could b thinking of him. Dont think Ristella is gone anyway.

    IMO,

there will be a top 4 breakaway, with Bohs coming 5th being best of the rest.

If Shels can get their act together, I think they'll go on to win the league. Derry & Cork to be very close at seasons end but have gone for Derry to come second.

Drogs to finish 4th again. Should be better than chasing pack but a small bit off the top three.

Sligo Rovers will be signing 6 players (or at least 5) and their quality should be good enough for us to stay clear of relegation.

Shams to win 1st Division, but only just from Galway who will beat Pats in the play-off.

While I obviously do think Doolin is a gobsh!te, my opinion would be the same regardless. Keddy and Fitzpatrick (and Shelley? Don't know too much about him) are not players you add to your squad to mount a title challenge, and the amount of money which has been poured into the team merits more than a mid-table finish. The reason Drogheda didn't challenge last year is because Doolin's a poor manager, and I don't see anything to suggest that'll be any different next year. I'm not alone in thinking this either - coislaoi has already said the same on this thread, and other people have said it as well.

Obviously, you can have a different opinion to me - that's what the forum is all about. But I'm not saying Drogheda will do badly because I don't like Doolin. I'm saying they'll do badly because I think he's a poor manager.

Will you ever stop trying to promote Flannery, he's not as good as you keep going on about, ffs.

As for lost players, he probably means, Kupono Low, Tim McCann, Ciaran Foley, Stephen O'Donnell and plenty more!

Scroll down here. Arguably our best defender last season, remember his name in future.

Would, say, Gareth Farrelly, Alan Moore, Joey Ndo or most of the Shels squad not have more experience then him?
