    i didn't mention anythin about flannery's ability.

kupono & mccann are the only two i would consider a loss

Foley and O'Donnell are losses too in my opinion!
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

That will show them up as also rans again this season.
Ah I smell fear!!! Peadar, I notice in your post that you neglect to mention (that up to and including your post) that 5 peeps think we'll come second, 6 think we'll come third, 5 think we'll come fourth, and one thinks we'll come 5th. But NO, you have to jump on the fact that 6 think we'll win it. Whether you like it or not Peadar most people actually think we'll finish lower next season - but you STILL had to get all defensive about the 6. And why? To a Corkonian like yourself, even this simple thread is a competition that Cork HAS to win.

Hows this for a second string Peadar? (team choice courtesy Maribor)

    _________Jennings________

    Deery_ Mokendi_ Oman_ McChrystal

    Cash_ Doherty_ Higgins_ Brennan

    ___McHugh_____ O'Flynn____

That team alone could finish in the top 3-4!!!

Personally I think Shels will win the league - especially if they carry their form over from the end of last season. I think Derry will come second again. With Cork 3rd. Drogs 4th. Bohs 5th. Longford 6th. Sligo 7th. Pats 8th. Bray 9th. UCD 10th. Dublin City 11th. Waterford 12th.

For some reason or other I have a feeling that Cork will implode slightly this year - don't know why, maybe complacency? cockiness?

Sharks are as tough as those football fans who take their shirts off during games in England in January, only more intelligent.

Sadly I'd have to agree that Waterford United are in big trouble for next year.At the moment we've the grand total of 5 players for the upcoming season. Most of last seasons squad have apparently decided to jump ship even though they were offered the same or better contracts according to Mike Kerley on the radio last night. Our budget is small so looks like we'll be relying on junior league players and rejects from other squads that no-one has signed yet to make up the numbers.
I can see Shelbourne winning back the league next season.

i think we could do with a couple of these "****" eL players that know what its all about rather than some guy over from england that thinks he is in for a great time

i like burnys but to say he has more experience than any player in the eL is just a fallacy really! he had a few years in the middle of the english leagues

burns has played 160 league games in england most of em at a standard equal to or higher than the eL. any player sc could have signed from eL would have to have been released by another club. if they have been released&we can afford em it's very doubtful that they'd be much better than what we have. personally i'm pretty happy with connor's signings so far, i don't think any of em are here for "a great time". i can think of better places to go than the north west of ireland if ur lookin for a great time. the type of players i expect to be signed by feb22 will be similar to those that mcstay signed back in the day...young, hungry, ambitious&have a point to prove.
