I agree wholeheartedly.....there must be a few Delaney "plants" in here. Quinn, unmask yourself now....

listen here mate, you have been slagging me and Klein off a lot. Since when did you become prefect? we are entitled to our opinions just as you so lay off

You obviously don't keep much of an eye on Irish football, we did boycott our games until we starved the board out, and now the club is in an infinitly better position long term with the fans in control. maybe there is something in that.
I just have to agree with almost every point you make...Houghton Quinnn charlton etc.....feed them to the lions

yes, and look how he is supporting them now cos his mate the ginger minger has the job....by the way I see Alan Kelly is getting paid only 60k a year as goalkeeping coach.

I get paid way more than that and I never played in goals...

We all know Delaney is a fcuk wit and will get what he deserves sooner or later, in the mean time my point was against people who said they hoped The Republic of Ireland get beaten and tanked, I didn't direct that comment on you. Then you quoted me with all this????
All because I said im a devoted fan? Why is it ok for you to say all that about me based on one post (above)
I've never seen a sheep throw a bottle at kids....Rovers fan, you are entitled to be peeved. Mods?

Alright ladies, put the handbags down. M@ttitude, the correct use of punctuation in your "throwing bottles" post would have avoided all this. RTID, take a chill pill; even I could see that M@ttitude wasn't digging at you personally. Geysir and klein4, thanks for the interesting sub-plot but let's please lose the personal insults. Den Perry, people in glass houses and all that. Stop shît-stirring.

Come on the lot of you, time for a big kiss-and-make-up. Otherwise this thread gets locked and I'll turn you all over to Ken Shabby...

I'm apalled by some of the comments before a ball is even kicked (or a Coaching Session started!). Best supporters in the world, my arse! (I was going to go down the 'majority' are great road but thought I'd keep it simple as I've learned all too recently, there's a bit of confusion understanding minority and majority when it relates to Football Fans!! ).

I really hope that those not interested in supporting our national team stay away from lansdowne Road. The team don't need that negativity (particulary any new players brought in).

You can tell some people are just praying for us to fail so that they throw the aul 'i told ya so' back. We'll have a poor performance at some stage and the knifes will be out straight away. Ironically I'd put money that someone who was appalled when the media started a Kerr witchhunt will be leading the pack on foot.ie against Staunton. There's some contenders for leaders of that break away faction already and a quick search on older posts on Kerr topics makes for interesting reading.
that best supporters in the worl tag is just sad.....after theyre singing of you'll never walk alone in Swizerland after the last Euro 2004 qualifier I was embarrassed. These are the clowns who welcome supporters of other nations who when we played there attacked our fans, and indeed urinated on Irish supporters during a qualifier in the early 90's...OLE OLE OLE OLE

Staunton to be formally unveiled as new Ireland manager

Steve Staunton is expected to be formally unveiled as the new manager of the Republic of Ireland later today. The 36-year-old is Ireland's most-capped international, having played 102 matches during a career that spanned three World Cups.

Questions are already being asked about his suitability for the job, but the FAI has attempted to offset any concern by drafting in former England boss Bobby Robson as a managerial adviser.

    Read more at www.breakingnews.ie
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

    Staunton ready for challenge

Steve Staunton is looking forward to the challenge of managing Republic of Ireland after being unveiled on Monday.

The former Liverpool and Aston Villa star was named his country's new manager last week after The Football Association agreed a compensation package with Walsall to secure Staunton's release.

ah ballax, a lot of negativity floating about, but to hell with it, we can only get behind them and go for it. I do agree as someone said at least we will no longer have Kerr's cautioness and negativity which annoyed the crap out of me,
    Roll on the Euro qualification!

Well we'll have to wait and see won't we, seeing as we've no evidence either way? If/when Ireland go one-nil up away from home it'll be interesting to see the reaction of the bench. Robson has a reputation for building teams around the attack but do we have the players for this

Agreed! I have come to terms with the appointment of Sir Stobby Stauntson and am looking forward to getting some good away trips out of next week's draw.

Anyone read Stuart Pearce's comments after linking him with the England job after the Sven Sting? Thought it was interesting how he finds it embarrassing that he has been connected with the job - after all the debates we've had about Stan - although some of the analogies are bit "football":

"I find it quite embarrassing," Pearce told Sky Sports News. "Ours is probably the only industry in the world where you could have a total novice that's not even been in club management for a year being touted for the top job in English football.

"I find it ludicrous, to be quite honest with you and I find it a massive slur on people who have been in club management for years and years on end.

"Would we say that the next prime minister is going to be somebody who has not been elected in their own ward? No, we wouldn't - it would be ludicrous! The same should be said of the England manager's job.

"When I was a youngster I wanted to re-wire houses but I didn't just walk into someone's house and say: 'By the way, I've got no qualifications but can I wire your house today?'
