Can anyone tell me who manages each of the top, say 20, ranked teams in the world? How many are (a) paid better than at club level and (b) would be considered as "elite" managers? Many are local FA yes men or technocrats., or ex-players with little experience I'd speculate.

Dave O'Leary made his views on club vs international management well known. He's hardly going to be alone.

I cannot accept this appointment as nothing positive about it at all. Qualification for 2008 is now gone so its a training period for Stan. The fact they have given him a 4 year contract means the FAI will wipe next 2 years off as learning experience no matter how bad.

I think they should be barred from co-existing with other people and exiled to a desolate wasteland far away from known civilisation (Cork) their error was of such great magnitude.
