I think they're too good to go down too. They're no worse than a lot of teams above them. Yesterday was the big performance we've been waiting for from McCarthy. Levein obviously likes what he sees which is very encouraging for Ireland.

There's a lot of good young centre halves coming through right now, O'Brien and Dunne aren't 26 yet. Hopefully they've a good 6-8 years left at senior international level. McShane and McCarthy are playing well. Dont forget Breen and Doherty (playing regularly at centre half for Norwich) are still options

Don't worry, I hadn't! That's why I'm so glad to see McCarthy play well

yeah, even when he was ropey here early on he generally showed enough good to persist with him through the bad and yesterday he put it all together,he seemed to relish the challenge of marking Keane and there was plenty banter between them, good to see.

hopefully he will keep it between the ditches and fulfill the potential.

i was home over Christmas and missed norwich's visit but Mrs CraftyToePoke told me Doherty was dodgy, that he looked clumsy all game.

I am going to Southampton at the end of February. I don't fancy The Den thank you very much. What's your interest in that game ?

Agreed to a certain extent that you want a pundit to predict results. However, what I was commenting on was the dismissive way he treated Leicester when the history of the FA Cup says you do that at your peril. Look at Ferguson. he didn't learn from his experience against Exeter a season or so back and once again fielded a weakened team in one of the two competitions they can win What exactly are the players being rested for ?. But this debate is for elsewhere - not in the Ireland Forum.

Hopefully Millwall will have Doyle, Dunne & Cogan playing, and SWFC will have Whelan, Coughlan, Partridge & Corr. That's all. I've only been there once before - 4 yres ago to see Sadlier (who scored 2), Steve Reid & Robbie Ryan. What a grim place in mid-winter.

My mate in work is a season ticket holder but he's going to Twickenham that afternoon for the 6 Nations so I'm taking his ticket.

One of those Irish Millwall players is bound to score - the Irish always score against Wednesday (Holland got his first ever FA Cup goal last weekend). Corr won't be playing. Wednesday have just signed two more strikers so he's back down the pecking order. Eagles has gone on loan to someone else from Man U so Partridge should get a few more games. Coughlan and Whelan should also be playing. You'll like Coughlan. He's a real "put my head where it hurts" type of centre half.
