    Taken from http://www.soccercentral.ie/viewstor...&viewstory=yes

Galway United season tickets have never been sold in these numbers before, record merchandise sales for Christmas have been received and there is a spring in all steps backroom and on the pitch for the 2006 season.

To make sure that the plans are working a number of pre-season friendly games have been organised to test the off season training that has continued since the end of last seasons high.

Galway United face Shelbourne on the 3rd of February in Terryland Park, 7.30 kick-off. They then head the following week to the UK from 10th to 12th where they will train with Wycombe Wanderers, watch Wycombe play Mansfield town and United will then play against FC United of Manchester on the Sunday before returning.

FC United is an English club that was created by Manchester United supporters after the take over by Malcom Glazer and is currently the fastest growing team in the UK. United have also lined up a friendly against newly promoted Sligo Rovers, the game will take place in the Showgrounds on the 25th of February.

The UK training camp is been sponsored by the Galway United Supporters Trust. GUST Chairman Ronan Coleman "We are delighted to assist Stephen Lally & his team in their preparation for the coming season. We will be running a series of events over the coming month to raise necessary funds for this training camp"

Stephen Lally “To date the team has been kept busy and also we are trying to add fun and variety along with team building and bonding. This week we were in Dangan doing fitness training, college road with Connacht rugby doing weights, and also in Athenry training. We are also bringing the lads to Killary adventure for more team building. The pre season has been well organised and good for everyone”.

Season tickets are available from Zhivago records and also from the Galway United Office or www.galwayunitedfc.ie
