I'm trying to settle a bet, when did he play for rovers exactly, i think i remember him playing under Dermot Keeley back in the late 80's but that is it , i'm sure he was there as some other stage of his career as well, i would also be interested to know who else he played for!

I saw him play in the Showgrounds (Sligo vs Cork City) in 1991. Keely was your manager at the time. He re-joined Galway United for the start of our promotion winning 1992 - 1993 season, and subsequently went to Finn Harps.
He had a stint with Athlone Town aswell

He played for just about every LoI club except Limerick.
He was at Galway when John Herrick took over as manager. Late 80's I reckon. Teamtak went like - "kick them and kick them again and if you can't kick them again kick the ball" "Magee I want you tracking back and tackling"
The response was
"Boss I haven't made a tackle since 1972"
