what would shams fans expect their average attendance to be next year? 2004 was our worst season for 17 years&we had spent 5 years in hell&our average was about 1800 last year. and we had fantastic away support all season. on 4-5 occasions we had about 400. will the most famous club in ireland top that??

i dont know who these shams are, but Rovers will probably have a similar home 'core' support. 1800 is probably a bit high, cant see many away fans, except possibly dundalk, but our away support should be more impressive than that, especially the sexy overnights like galway and kilkenny.

That's a reasonable opinion to hold, but it is completly seperate from saying that a club has no history.

Well - Dublin City are themselves the ones trying to deny/erase their history...!

Soon the league could have such a wonderful fixture list, containing mouth-watering ties like Shamrock Rovers Vs Derry City, Derry City Vs Shamrock Rovers, Rovers Vs Bohs, Bohs Vs Rovers, Derry City Vs Duine Eile, Mulingar Under 12's Vs Shelbourne, Mayo League Ladies Vs St Pats etc

Two focking geniuses we have on our hands here lads...
    Proposed and seconded.

From my point of view I've lost 3 games a year against 2 teams (Harps and Rovers) who I genuinely get excited about playing against. Big crowds home and away, great atmosphere, basically everything Dublin City isn't, and more importantly, shows no sign of ever being.

The last time we played Dublin City in Tolka was the most soul-destroyingly boring game of my life. Indeed I remember highlighting at the time, on these very pages, the instance of two friends conducting a conversation, one in the Ballybough end and one in the Riverside stand.

Whilst I like many fans am fully aware Seery FC deserve their place in the League, don't expect me to like it or welcome it in any way.

    I prefer this one :

Dublin City fans are the Eircom League's eqivalent of Luke Skywalker in 'The Empire Strikes Back' - dangling over the edge of a precipice whilst refusing to accept the factual reality that Home 'Darth Vadar' Farm is their parent....

    Lads,
Bald Student sometimes makes a joke. There's probably no need for much more to this thread.

I agree. Making this ten pages would be silly. Rovers to stay down & go out of existence.

If you think a trip to UCD or DCFC is bad you're in for a shock in the discover ireland division.
