I saw them there early 90's,the place was covered with old bill, even in the tube station, old bill with police dogs, police vans all over the place,it was like going to see the wall v ham.
Should be a good gig, hopefully Shane will turn up semi-sober!!

Yip, saw them in '87 they were brilliant one of the best gigs I've seen, Kirsty McColl was excellent as well. Wouldn't mind the old bill haven't seen many of them in Brixton in years!!!Originally Posted by Dublin12
saw shane with the popes 2 yrs ago, was very late and very ****ed by the time he came on. great gig though, he stubbed a cigarrette out in one willing punter's palm- must be my favorite rock n' roll moment!
well how was it suckas
I got given 6 free tickets to see them last year. was superb. couldnt understand a word he said when he was talking, but as soon as he was singing, he was class. added bonus was getting one over on a tout by giving a way a spare to a fella who was about to pay the tout £50 for it.
Hope they are as good as last year.
Sold a ticket for a £10 to a tout just after 8pm couldn't be bothered waiting about, also seemed to be alot of tickets floating about..Originally Posted by Babysis
The Academy was packed couldn't make out a word he was saying early on but later he really warmed up(or the drink kicked in) and turned out to an excellent gig...
good, im glad it turned ut to be a decent gig. Hope fairytale of New York was as good with the fake snow. I turned down a ticket today for tomorrow. My ankle is just not able to take it.Originally Posted by Condex
All this new technology there were two machines above the stage blasting it out for 3/4 minutes. I remember at the last Pogues gig in '87 there was some one perched precariously above stage manning a spotlight and chucking down artifical snow...Originally Posted by Babysis
Am going tomorrow to see them, hope it does not turn out like the Wembley arena gig in 88, which was almost a riot.![]()
