Good luck to him!
ATHLONE TOWN boss Michael O'Connor has made his third close-season signing with the capture of Jim Sheridan from First Division champions Sligo Rovers.
The 30-year-old Sligo native is an experienced central defender, having also played with Derry City in the Premier Division and with Newry City in the Irish League.
Meanwhile, young striker Iarfhlaith Davoren has also put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him stay on at Golden Island Park for another season
Good luck to him!
Ian Rossiter has signed for us aswell

Roy Keane is still a pri*k!
Athlone seem to be shaping up decently enough.
Well our defence was cack last season so signing 2 defenders from
the table toppers can only help us!
Hopefully Sheridan can stay injury free and if Rossi keeps tough
tackling it'll be an improvment for us.
We have 2 good keepers again this season and with Stephen Mullan
and Colin Fortune back too thinks can only get better![]()

they seem to be gettin a lot of players. are ye movin into that new ground beside St. Mels, ash??
Shams, Harps and Galway are obviously going to be favourites for the title next season but I think Athlone and Dundalk will be a surprise package in the First Division this year.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
