You would swear that this was the official forum of the United Nations the way some people are so serious and glum.
All that happened was a few young supporters slagging each other off !
Not suitable for this site, really, but no need to go overboard on the handwringing either.
The indivdiuals concerned are banned, lets get back to normal, quickly.
Pa and we say the FAI is gone like Hitlers Germany. Ken Shabby hang ure head in shame!!!!!!!!!!!
Lads, i haven't been keeping track but i have definitely seen all of the warnings and PMs and toing and froing (sp?) trying to sort all this out ... over an extended period of time, all that is being asked (numerous times) is for people to cop on a bit. That is the bones of it .... lads, it aint that hard really to be fair.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
if posters flout the rules, they are warned, suspended, then banned, as was the case with at least two GUFC posters. This was the correct course of action.
To effectively close the GUFC forum is very unfair, supporters rely on it for news and information. It is the second busiest in the First Division and is very important to the Supporters Trust. The vast majority of posters are well behaved.
We appreciate all the good work of the mods - but please, let us have it back !![]()
I got a warning for a post on the GUFC forum which was meant totally tongue in cheek and i know that most of the posters will see it that way but some people need to mellow out a bit!
happened me too on eircom league forum coz i sed sumtin bout galway, fair enuff i suppose
Was that the betting one? If so, ffs, why would anyone warn you for that?Originally Posted by gustavo
I didn't see any Galway fans complain about it either.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
some1 reported it to a mod who was only doing their job really
Gustavo ... you were warned because someone complained, in fairness you must realise that it could have been seen as trolling, i know you mightn't have intended to troll but the fact is it was picked up that way.
Lads tension is high at the moment, if people just ease back a bit and try and avoid all the strife then it wont be a problem.

That is the short of it lads ... people just need to chill !!

The answer is [or was, merged now] two threads down. You couldn't scan the thread list before posting?Originally Posted by Magicme
You expect me to answer your PM (AND the email you sent via the site, which I call spam) after talking to me like that? Would you like a ban? Because you're on the right road child...Originally Posted by gufct
No gustavo, you need to stay out of there, like you and all Sligo fans were told a month ago. And you a mod. What kind of example are you setting? Is there any reason why you should stay mod of the Sligo forum, in light of that fact that you haven't been able to control the trolling in your forum, and find this kind of behaviour acceptable?Originally Posted by gustavo
Given the idiocy of the past few days, i.e. mods breaking rules, sligo and galway fans not having the brains to parse a thread list, me being spammed, I'm not really seeing a reason to open these forums back up again. If you really feel the need for you posts to appear immediately, I suggest you find another site. Then maybe the fans with brains can have an actual discussion.

Magicme originally posted that in the EL forum Adam so they probably missed this thread.Originally Posted by Ken Shabby

Fair enough, apologies.Originally Posted by sligoman
It was obvious that gustavo's post could have been viewed as a troll by Galway fans. He shouldn't have posted it. "Tongue in cheek" is a lame excuse up there with "banter".That was the original thing Adam but then you changed it so that both fans could post in each others forum as long as it wasn't trolling.

how about reopening both forums as a trial like the way they were and if things dont go well just close them permenantly....its the only soulution and people will comply...its not fu[king life or death
